However some of the differences are actually allowed for by the Gov Body who have those for capturing or recapturing tax-exempt nonprofit status. The most recent Free Christians Newsletter notes that several ex-elders among the egroup are helping out and behind the scenes who knows how many total current elders are quietly doing the same. You're right. The trend is set. In East Europe one large group already broke off, and Poland is more independent than they'd like too. Henschel was President from the time Fred Franz died until early this year. During his tenure he had the opportunity to steer the Gov Body into changing policies but did not.
I am a fan of the Free Christians movement but it's not MY group, nor anyone else's. Each group and individual who associates within it is independent though naturally tending to be cooperate, the same structuring successful with Baptists, Congregationalists, Unitarians for hundreds of years.
Judah Ben Schroeder's name also appeared in a directory of attorneys when I consulted it in a legal library. I will also see if I can't refind that directory for the forum's benefit now that you continue trying to discredit my statement.
You also say I think "the world ran" because of his father's position as a Gov Body member. I never said that. I said his dad Albert and he have much influence and influence does equate to power.
My statements are all true. You say just call the WTBTS and get a correct answer. You and the one called Mad are one and the same in suggesting this but one cannot and should not trust things the WTBTS says including about the son of a Gov Body member.

VERIFYING will show that I'm not "nutty," that JUDAH BEN SCHROEDER IS AN ATTORNEY. [email protected] in his note on the link never denied what I said and Alan knows Judah personally. In fact what Alan doesn't state (for whatever personal reasons such as he like Judah?)but that I will tell any readers here is that they gave Judah a celebration party for becoming an attorney aboard a yacht and this caused a stir in Brooklyn. I'm not sure if his name also appears on a letter to France that denounced France taxing the WTS (Swingle then alive was big on this thing which blew up in the WTS's face) but will check on that or just which open letter or other document of the WTS's it also appears on.

What was or wasn't said at Bethel's special meeting is, just as said, conjecture. As said by someone maybe for 4 hours they did do nothing but review benefits. It's simply not yet known but should be known soon. And if the meeting somehow didn't touch on their being sued over molestation coverups, then they certainly missed their golden opportunity.
Now for your other statement. No one has ever said that either Schroeder or his son is or are in full control of the WTBTS but it has been said he and his attorney son Judah exert more influence than many or even most would think. Use common sense. If nothing else figure for yourself that a Gov. Body member who has a son who is also a Bethelite will naturally have twice or more than twice the normal influence.
And yes, for a long time Jarasc has been de facto manager of Bethel (that's never been doubted and we've known it ages) though I would argue that now Adams' influence or power should definitely not be underestimated either. That Henschel has less mental capacity to formulate sentences etc is also not being challenged but contention is that we all can hold him responsible for the current mess and so will most all JWs - for he led everybody into this mud hole.
When the histories are written he won't come up smelling like roses.

All true. The WTBTS as an NGO component Ais in bed with the UN. In Africa the UN and WTBTS collaborate even more openly as in Mozambique's refugee camps which has saved the WTBTS much money. That's why a few years back AWAKE gave such a nice write-up article for Kofianan and other UN staff. Don't you remember! Right after Jah Christians pointed it out they put out a couple article jabbering that they still oppose the UN, just enough to cover themselves... so they prayed. Yes, she wants to be a "real" kingdom in and of this world. After all, the spiritual kingdom really did come in 1914 plus 70-80 (chuckle). No, the reality is Big Mama sold out and now reaps the whirlwind. Some new light, eh!

Returning to the Bonham thing. Yes, Bonham's congregation seceded then the WTS overreacted. They fixed it in writing that they and only they, no local elder/s for example, would own a kingdom hall building in the future.
But what this did was make it clear to any future Judge hearing a case involving the WTBTS that the WTBTS calls the shots from top-down, hence helping make the WTBTS legally liable to pay out money when one of its elders or ministerial servants is found guilty, say, of child molestation.
In the eyes of the Law they are not legally emancipated from liability but have themselves boxed in. A Judge can inquire:
1) The way you are structured who appoints duties among your clergy?
Is it by local voting members of the hall or you at the top?
Duhhhh, your Honor, yep we do it from the top.....2) The way you're structured who administers discipline when a member smokes, has adultery or whatever? You at the top or the membership?
Well, uhhhhh, Your Honor, we do.......3) When the bills on the kingdom halls are all paid off, who gets the property? You or your local members? Oh, no! Oh, my!!!!! NOOOO, Your Honor!!! Please, please don't sell our printing presses! We may have to sell 1 or 2 and lay off people or something horrible like that!!!!

Newly forming groups don't need kingdom hall buildings since they can also simply meet in private homes (a la' Tuesday night Book Study groups) or even use free places such as community center or library rooms etc.
Therefore the Bonham, Texas, thing has absolutely no bearing. There have been schisms though less known all through the history of the organization.
One way to save money for pay-out to molestation victims is indeed by cutting staff as has already happened in both Germany and now (as Kent and others report) this year in Canada. I believe someone had mentioned reductions at the India branch as well. And probably jwdugan has commented on Japan's branch tending to be more independent these days than the WTS anticipated.
You are also false about Brooklyn giving up after going after Kent over the posting of the secret elders' manual. Hourglass2 had to moved ISPs more than once since then. I am told the Free Christians website has already tonight begun some new changes to thwart WTS moves.

From Immediate Messaging, this is Charles' interpretation based not on what he's overheard so much as things he's "actually seen going on" he says. He does believe the meeting we're speaking of here has been planned for some time now for damage control, and that word finally went out about 24 hours ago to some Bethel and field-based operatives to discourage the most vocal persons in the JW/exJW community from effectively venting to the media and public. Also that last ditch efforts began yesterday and today and continue to this second to try to muzzle or get opposition websites such as this one and our own shut down as quickly as possible. For example you can expect WTS attorneys pressuring ISPs to dump websites, increased flaming on the discussion boards, that sort of thing. They are upset they haven't been able to dissuade and discourage us, "us" being the whole Free Christians opposition movement across the internet. He also believes there may be some immediate additional widespread belt-tightening measures such as a decrease in personell at Bethel etc in anticipation of possible lost lawsuits. The governing body is not saying it openly but is now extremely fearful that organizing efforts for a new non-Watchtower group will begin in earnest. Their fears are directed against us, yes, but also towards the CO's with whom the DO's have lately been consulting. Some ranks may begin to break.

They want to prepare Bethelites for the fact that Dateline NBC is investigating Bethel and will be airing a documentary concerning the Watchtower's policies on sensitive issues. That the media representations are slanted, unfair and untrue. That Bethelites need to say NOTHING to anybody, even friends back home and eventually the whole matter will have blown over and away.
Do I have someone inside telling me this? No, not right now but it's the simplest most logical guess, and I bet that Randy, Kent or Alan or Charles will be finding out real soon. :)
