the sources seem to be in conflict, with one (the Patch) saying that the 30 Front St. property just sold was their last holding, and another (YIMBY) reporting that "The Witnesses still own two small properties at 80 and 86 Willow Street."

JW's like to when possible, rely on technicalities when denying or confirming an accusation - IF a response is actually offered.

While those two Willow Street properties may be located closeby to the former WT Headquarters, perhaps they are not considered or identified as part of the 'headquarters' properties the Patch article is written about.

So, to continue to qualify as a pioneer you had to do 2 hours for every pioneer hour you missed.

Where is the Bible example for this requirement?

As we kept track of our own time, we could have reported anything we wanted and no one would have known the difference. Of course, WT has developed a method to ensure we acted in the manner they demand as they conditioned us to believe, Jehovah, similar to Santa Claus, sees all and knows when we've been good and bad, naughty and nice.

As believers who volunteer their time and are told they are a brotherhood with all 'brothers' as equals in the eyes of God, why does anyone need to 'qualify' for a title 'Pioneer'? The title only seems to elevate the person above the brotherhood while placing burdon and stress on the volunteer to ensure they report enough hours this month, so as to continue to qualify to keep the title next month.

SinceJehovah is supposedly satisfied with the efforts freely given by each individual, and since we are to believe preaching is a noble requirement which we are to perform, why then worry about holding a title?

The Reasons for Cart Witnessing

whatever we think of it, you have to admit that it's quite "genius".. the door to door ministry as done in western developed countries where the jw quirky religion has probably reached their saturation level was a complete and utter waste of time in terms of the effort expended to recruit people.. at the same time, it was rarely something that anyone enjoyed which led to people being labelled as inactive, being pressured to doing more and maybe ultimately deciding jwism wasn't for them and leaving.. there was also the issue that many jws are actually pretty bad at knowing and articulating their beliefs so were pretty incapable of getting any meaningful message across.. they solved all this with the cart witnessing.

the real point isn't to recruit, it's to make life easier for jws.

now they can stand and chat with their friend, have a coffee, not talk to anyone or make eye contact and still act as a walking billboard for jw.org.

Carts also seem to be another control tactic. There are only some who are permitted to do cart work whereas other 'publishers' must go D2D to get their time. Not sure what a JW must do to qualify for cart work.

It seems the carts also make it easier to extend the day in ministry. Since JWs can sit and drink coffee, eat and talk to each other close to where the cart is set up, there then is no need to take a break elsewhere such as a coffee shop or restaurant.

I've observed JWs with carts outside ice arenas and other public venues, late in the afternoon, beyond the time when publishers would usually be out knocking on doors. What I found odd though, just as increasing numbers of parents were arriving with their children to skate or play hockey, the JWs would quickly pack up and depart.

a little back story.

i have been working so hard to build my faith this year, and i am finally at the point where i am beginning to trust god and i want to build an unbreakable relationship with him.

That statement does not sound certain.

If you truly love her, her past should be in the past and will not matter as she is with only you now.

You refer to her past as 'mistakes'. Does she consider her past as mistakes or are you projecting your values on how you expect she should feel?

Instead of being concerned with how you can deal with her past, if you truly love and cherish her, should cause you to question how you can measure-up to be the best partner she could ever want and deserves.

i just overheard an anointed acquaintance on the phone with a friend of hers who has just had surgery for cervical cancer.

The GB wanted all the leadership for themselves claiming to the the FDS so that there wouldn't be any question about whose opinion counts as "doctrine". - Oppostate

To clarify, this change was actually more a means to protect WT assets.

WT's lawyer was forced to testify to the Judge in an Australian court of law, the FDS class is only a theological arrangement. IOW, the FDS class does not actually exist.

It was only after this that WT teachings were changed so that any claiming to be anointed, are no longer immediately included within the FDS, only the GB is.

The GB also changed their doctrine to have not yet inherited Christ's belongings but will inherit them once the Great Tribulation commences.

How many are PIMO ??

i know we cannot answer this, how many are physically in, mentally out (pimo), but i heard an amazing piece of news the other day.. an ex-p.o and ex-elder, a long time regular pioneer, and when i knew him a stalwart believer, went for a drink with another jw who has actually left, but is not df or anything.. in the course of conversation he came out with this bombshell "well, i am actually an atheist now, i just go along to keep my wife happy".. i also heard of a number of youngsters that i know personally who are simply living their life as they want, whilst making sure they don't get df'd for family and social reasons.. if as it seems the pimo's are a huge number, could there be a huge " awakening" where they all realize they are in a huge group, and they all say " eff it, lets call it a day on all the jw s**t ".

I have read speculation that 50% of attendees are PIMO. I think that percentage is overly optimistic but suspect there is a substantial portion who do not consider themselves as PIMO but recognize things are not as WT claims. Many might feel that God is watching and will punish them if they investigate the religion independent of WT. There are likely others who know WT is wrong about many things, but continue to think, "What if WT has it right overall?".

WT are masters at programming it's members to doubt and second guess their own thoughts and and opinions, instead programming them to rely on WT to tell them what to do and how to think.

in the recent montana lawsuit wt had to show their net worth.

it came in at like 1.6 billion i think.

When you say WT had to report their net worth of $1.6B, that was only 1 corporation, I don't recall which, I think maybe WTBTS of NY. I recall the Christian Cong of JW was an additional $500M.

Other WT corporations such as WTBTS of Pennsylvania were not named in the action so those values were not reported.
