  QfR (1940s): End of Gentile Times and Start of WWI

  world war i started on august 1st, 1914; the gentile times were supposed to end on oct 1st, 1914. .

  so the whole "satan hurled down and war broke out" does not really work.

  i remember in an 1940ish watchtower issue there was a "qfr"-part that dealt with it.

  my wife is getting baptized on the 19th.. i wrote her a letter today.

  basically i asked her why she isn't coming to me to find out my concerns.

  My father and step-mother have not spoken to me in almost ten years, my daughter has not in one year. I'm not df'ed nor DA'ed. I just don't believe what they believe anymore. You need to show your wife some of the literature which talks about how to treat others who leave, one way or another.

  Depression - a possible cure in sight

  i was just reading an article about a 50 year old toronto psychiatric nurse who has had 10 years of horrible depression.

  she has fought off suicidal thoughts, cried and sobbed on her balcony for hours on end, spent 6 months in bed, shunned food and friends.. today.....two years later, she is happy, full of energy, and feels like living again.

  what happened?.

  it does say in the new testament 'abstain from blood'

  I totally understand that. But the WTB&TS says you can have a transfussion of many of the parts of the blood. You say it's studying of the bible that makes you think the witnesses are correct. So which scripture is it that gives you the faith that the headquartes are correct about taking parts of the blood?

  Just curious though, where does it say in the bible that you can't take whole blood transfussions, but may take many parts of the blood by transfussion?
