Actually, no. New Orleans is below sea-level, and surrounded by three bodies of water. Even with just 2 inches of rain they have to turn on the pumps. I think they do a lot of praying.

Wow!
Five and a half hours to travel 130 miles!
We finally made it into Lafayette at 7:30 last night. Traffic was unbelievable. This is not my first evac but definitely is the worst.
They said on the news this morning that if New Orleans was hit right on, the city would fill with water, and would take 6 months to pump the water out. They already have the biggest pumps in the nation I believe.
Anyway, looks like the weather will not be too bad here in Lafayette.

Lafayette is 130 miles from here. It should be fine. Actually Evelyne's entire office is trying to relocate to the same place. Everything is coordinated from the main office in San Fran.

There should be no problem accept perhaps the traffic on the way out. We're going to Laffayette. I made reservations a couple of nights ago just incase we did have to leave. Searching today, no one in Evelyne's office can get a room. The news said yesterday that rooms were sold out for 100 miles.
It's a shame it has to hit someone.

When you read what else are you doing?

i've tried reading while mr.panda is watching tv but that doesn't always work.

Inventors?

I live the belief that anything is possible. It only needs to be discovered.
I invented what I called an Electro Magnetic Power Generator. I used one 1.5 volt AA battery and created 30 volts. The problem was the real power was missing. I couldn't get the amps up. We have been moving around the country for the last 4 years. It's been in storage since.
