i was raised as a jw (third generation), got the unceremonious 'boot'(df)in 1980-81 been so long..i can't remember the actual date.

today is valentine's day...a day to share with your partner.

today is bittersweet for me.. my husband is a wonderful man....intelligent, a gifted musician, kind, handsome....and an alcoholic.

he spent the day drinking, and i spent my valentine's day evening eating supper alone in front of the tv.. tomorrow is my birthday.

We don't get the practise that I know of in UK.

A few years ago we had an epsiode of Qavener QC, which is about a barrister.

It was about a boy who had been brought up JW, but was not baptized and he needed blood.

The witnesses came off quite badly in the program, it made JW's look like a whako cult.

In one scean the elders decided to get the boy baptized so there would be more of a case for them when they went to court. So they were gathered in a darkly lit room, around a little pool with candles burning.

It made everything seem very weird

witnesses.net's and (a couple of years ago) hourglass2's the old hippie modestly says "hello" and enters if not the building then at least the area.

live in europe, am - (i am sorry to say) - a countryman of the unholy trinity consisting of kent, jan h. and norm, and thus well updated with the practises of the observer-thing.

do not support the majority of what they think or do.
