i've just recently (today) booked my little girls first birthday party at mcdonalds, she went to a pals birthday party a week ago.
well since i was brought without having any, and started bringing my daughter up that way, is it ok to do do them now we have left, i suppose now we have left it doesn't matter what we do now is it,are any other parents doing the same, i wonder?????.

We took Liam and Dylan to one of his school friends birthday party yesterday, we had a great time. They both came home and collasped on the couch, they had run about so much!
I'm just starting to organise Liam's first ever party, he will be four in May. We are going to the Wacky Warehouse, coz then I don't have to clean up after a bunch of four year olds!

i have been disfellowshiped since december 31, 1991. i attended the redwood city north congregation and was disfellowshipped along with an elder on the same night...you do the "mathwork.".
i am new to this sight (about 1/2 hour) and am not familiar with the format of the do's and don'ts ... or even if i should be here.... however, i have a question for anyone...(and i'm ready for the answers whether it be from over enthusiastic jw's or people who understand...or from anyone in between).. i was disfellowshipped because i openly admitted before 3 elders that i am gay and lived this life as a gay man despite being previously a regular pioneer and a ministerial servant.

it truly made me sad, when i read the posts on this particular thread.
My brother was Df'd a long time ago. We never broke off contact, much to a lot of people's disapproval.
It was really hard to have to ask him to just sit at the back of the kingdom hall during the service and not to come to the wedding reception stright after. We wanted him there so we said he could come much later on in the evening, even though he just came in and sat near us and didn't talk to anyone else, a lot of people promtly left when he walked in.

hello all: in discussing evolution, creation, and bible chronology we will at some point pass through various dating methods that challenge religious beliefs, especially that of the watch tower religion.. some years ago the watch tower society published material (i forget the actual reference) that challenged carbob-14 dating as flawed and prone to error, especially when dating fossils.
the wts cited some sources that dealt with sample contamination that may cause errors in reading half-life of carbon-14.. i wish i could find the article again, because it was published when i was still working in nuclear engineering.
i recall feeling that the wts was stretching the claims to cover the understanding of bible chronology regarding the age of homo sapiens being about 4,026 years.

I don't know what all the acronyms mean either, so your not alone
this post is primarily for those folk on this board, who post copious quantities of jw info on this board.. .
i can understand your wanting to help present jws and those looking for info on the organisation, but this is not the place for posting reams and reams of info.
most of us here know already this stuff.
I'd just like to say Hi and welcome to all the new posters.
Reading every single post isn't compulsory , I'll admit I don't because I just don't have the time.
The forum is split into sections, for the reason that people can read what they are interested in. So if someone has done some bible research there is a place to post it, where people who are interested can read it.
Also there may be people lurking who have doubts about the society, and they would find reading research that someone may have done useful, in coming to a disission about their future.
I think that there is room for all sorts of discussions, and people can choose what they are interested in.
