  just wondering about some of the profile pics...i think its nice to know a bit about the person you want us see, or the person you don't want us to see.

  so what were you thinking when the pic was taken, how long ago, and where were you?

  mine was taken last month, just after my 36th birthday.

  Mine was drawn of me in Florida, some lady working a booth at Universal Studios. I always wanted one, and now I have to look at it in the hallway every day.

  This was back about 1995 or 6 , and I still have/wear those chaps and jacket.

  The end of my trip was more like a comedy actually... I had WT's phone number in my cel phone, not written down. I called him and left a message. Then I called home, the phone beeped and quit during that call. Completely dead. We put it on the charger, nothing. We assumed the battery died for good. I had no directions and no number, so there was no sense going into texas.

  Maybe next trip... or we can all meet halfway between dallas and phoenix? El Paso?

  does anyone have the answer?

  i was brought up in "the truth", i have the odd bible study now and again, funny enough the last time was a week after 9/11, as im still subconsciously in fear of armageddon, but i haven fundamental problems with some of their teaching, hence my joy at finding this site.

  i also used to think armageddon was coming at the sight of the smallest storm.

  has anybody found what they think is "the truth" since coming away?.

  this may have been posted b/4, but you are all forgiving, right?.

  while we were studying, we were told there was not a collection plate passed around, just a contribution box.

  as the years went by it seemed like every other thur.

  I can go one better.....

  As a teen, and planning my escape from home, I had the opportunity to work on our hall in Drexel Hill, PA. We were replacing the roof, I think, back in '72. I was the gopher... go for this, go for that.... and with each time I had to go down the ladder, thru the hall, and outside, I would reach in and grab a few bills. Of course, I couldnt take them all, just the $20 ones.... I did this for the few weeks we were helping out, and had a nice bankroll till I was done. Not long after that, I split for better places and a better life... sorta.

  I pretty much ignore lecturers..... unless I am in the political mood.... then I have some fun.

  How can I help a friend with shunning?

  i have a jw friend who has just had a close family member df'd.

  she is really close to this person, and is basically his best friend, and all she had to lean on.

  she now has to shun him.
