  Stupid drunk drivers......

  my house is at the end of a fairly busy street that dead ends in our front yard and then takes up again a few houses down.

  i was trying to set up some email stuff for a client tonight around 10:30 when i heard some police sirens.

  i stood up and looked out my window to see a pair of headlights quickly coming towards my house with the police behind them.

  I am what is refered to as a "drafting whore" or "CAD cowboy"... contract worker that goes where the work is.... I get to travel to manufacturing outfits and help them design new machinery, anything from farm equipment to satellites to army tanks. While the travel sucks, the overtime is good..... pays for my bikes.

  First, there is no treatment in jail.. I know, I did time for different things, including DUI. That punishment, while valid, does nothing to most other than keeping most of them off the road while doing thier time. I say most, because when I was in, we had local guys on work release driving all over the place.

  To permanently stop it, 2 things need to happen.... Outlaw alchohol, and longer sentences. Neither will happen tho, too much money involved in DUIs and the law enforcement.

  When I was paroled, I had to do 18 months of visiting my parole officer. I had to pay $25 per month for this priveledge. Multiply $25 by 18 months, times xxxx number of offenders and you see what a nice little money generator this is.

  Solving the DUI problem involves getting drinkers to learn why they drink. Once that is accomplished, the stopping process is much easier. Many dont know why they do it, they just do.

  Before any of you say that I am talking out of my ass, I may be one of the better experts on this within this circle of people. The stories I could tell.............

  i have been smoking off and on for over a year,,,,,,,never smoked before this year in my life.. it all started just for the hell of it.

  then as my hub and i started going out dancing and hitting the town, cig smoke was everywhere.

  i would comehome with it in my hair and all over my clothes.

  If smoking cigars is the worst thing I do, so be it. I dont smoke in peoples houses or thier cars, so if someone gets on thier high horse and lectures me, I tell them to F off.

  My week now... get on a jet monday and fly to california... live in a hotel... work 12-14 hours a day... fly home friday nite.. fly back monday, etc...
