i managed to get my scanner working on another pc.
i'm not sure about the policy about posting scans of watchtowers here so if you want me to send you the scans let me know.
the scans are in a zip file which is password protected.
I just love the last illustration with the guy's head turned completely away and his hand held up as if to say, "la la la la la la la la, I'm not listening to anything you have to say, STRANGER!"
Why doesn't the WTBTS just do an illustration like this instead?
do you think it is ever appropriate?
should it be illegal?
do you think the bible recommends doing this?
Haven't spanked my kids in years.
We all know that spanking, especially in the KH bathrooms, has always been suggested and encouraged, either directly or indirectly. I never heard of one person objecting to the screams and cries of toddlers and young children coming from the KH bathroom in all my years going to the meetings. In this instance, spanking is nothing more than a method of breaking a child's spirit and conditioning them to live their lives in a cult.
Spanking, if used at all, should only be used as a last resort. It should only be illegal since many parents don't know when spanking is appropriate. They use it too excessively instead of talking and reasoning with their children, or using other methods of discipline to teach them.
There are some kids, however, I look at and think, "man, that little brat needs his/her ass tore up". In only some cases, a swat on the arse is the best attention getter.

i found a statement written by "god's channel of communication" in the "you can live forever in paradise on earth" book, c.1982, page 154, par.
you know, i never had a clue why people did this.
it's not like kingdom halls in different cities look different.

if the society decided to not shun persons who were weak, who disagreed or who simply didn't go to meetings and field service, would you still be a jw?
the catholics have all sorts of rules and regulations that should be obeyed yet if one doesn't abide by the law, they are generally never excommunicated.
if the witnesses decided to "just be there" for the "brotherhood", i'll bet that many would not be on this site.
Certainly, at the time of my disfellowshipment for smoking cigs, I would have been ok with it, although I still would most likely have drifted away from "the friends" and the organization anyway.
