  were there any religious maniacs in your congregation?

  i heard from someone some years ago that when he was in a psychiatric hospital(now closed)that there was a jw who was a religious maniac in with him(he once pulled a coat rack off in one moment of religious mania).. were there any religious maniacs in your congregation?

  Not sure I would say fanatic... still a nutjob tho. I signed up for college along with two other brothers, and we carpooled there every day. One of them turned out to be a nut... He insisted on calling all of the guys in the class "brother" and the gals "sister". When we pointed it out to him he said "well, we really are still brothers and sisters, even if they arent in the truth". Now if he was a big black guy, then calling someone "brother" would be quite normal, but he was a little white guy with a scouser accent.

  If nothing else he gave us a good laugh.

  some dumb congressman taking a loaded glock pistol onto an aircraft.. a guy was just jailed for 9 months in the uk for arriving at heathrow (from washington dulles) with amminution in his jacket.

  but hey, he wasn't a congressman ... just a black guy.

  OK... so what are all of these laws in place for? To prevent terrorists... Whether they be Al Queda (sp?) or some homegrown American who decides he wants to make a name for himself.

  This brings me to two points... AlanF.. if you think taking a pocket full of ammo onto a plane is a blatant attempt at hijacking the plane or whatever, then you, my friend, have a problem. If a terrorist were to take a load of ammo onto a plane, what harm could be done with said ammo? There are two ways to set a round off, heat and impact. Heat, well, you arent even allowed a lighter on board I believe. With centerfire cartridges, the impact has to take place in approximately a 1mm x 1mm spot, and have quite some force behind it to set it off. This would take a hammer and a nail just to set the thing off. And even if it COULD be discharged with either of these methods, it would be mostly harmless anyway, because the kinetic energy would be spread around it without a barrel, and would put very little force behind the bullet with next to NO accuracy.

  A glock pistol on the other hand.. if the pistol somehow got on board, then this would definitely be a problem. You know how easy it would be to hide a few rounds on a keychain (inside a "lucky rabbits foot" etc)? This would definitely have the potential to kill.

  As someone else mentioned, if you forget that you have a lethal weapon on your person, then you don't deserve to even carry it in the first place!

  Now this post is not to say that I support the idea of throwing this dumbass in jail just for being retarded. It is impossible to know someone's motive for doing anything, but I highly doubt that this man intended to cause problems on the plane. I say, just use common sense.

  Well.. I don't want to blow my own trumpet... but...

  DAMN I ROCK

  I just got done making (and eating) a roast chicken, stuffed with amazing Paxo. I then used the juices remaining from the pot I cooked the chicken in, and made probably almost half a gallon of gravy (what doesnt get used will be frozen). And it was AMAZING.

  Anyway, to the point of this post... This meal took me back to England (I promised myself I wouldn't cry ) when my mother used to make a big chicken dinner. Chicken, gravy, mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, carrots and swede, stuffing, and peas. If I could choose my last meal, that would be it. Simply amazing.

  What would you choose as your last meal, and why?

  edited to add: OK.. I'll be honest and admit I did shed a tear whilst writing this post... takes me back to my family days when I got my fill of chicken, then went and hugged my mother and thanked her for the meal, then went and fell asleep on the couch. Anyway...................................................................... I miss my family.

  I have said to you all I have to say Xena... don't be expecting any more words of wisdom for a while. All the ink smudged off my Words of Wisdom book in the last 10 minutes while chatting to you.

  Seriously though Xena... You are a beautiful woman, mom, member of this community, chef, singer, dancer, yoga-er, installation technician, candle-maker.... Well you get the point, you are an amazing woman.

  Again... all you need, is at the end of the day, to hold your daughter close and tell her you love her.
