  WTS Official Spin on monthly Awake: 'More emphasis on the Bible!'

  the march 2005 kingdom ministry brings up a full article about the awake only being published once a month, starting january 2006. .

  but the fun thing is the roundabout way this change is announced.

  knowing that the news would be a bitter pill to swallow (there should be a 'speeding up' of the preaching work, not a downsizing), the watchtower only announces the move to monthly publishing by the end of the article.

  I was considering it, but hotmail upped their account to 250MB with 10MB attachment capacity.

  When are they going to up it to 250?? I've heard of that since last June, but it has been just a promise so far.

  well the news is getting around within the congregations about the awake!

  going to a monthly beginning 2006.. some reactions from active jws:.

  That's what I said in another post:

  A huge decision like the monthly Awake was certainly made by taking into consideration a variety of reasons, like brain drain in Bethel, loss of creativity, lack of managing skills (it's a formidable task to print over 20 million copies per issue), lack of interest and the difficulty of keeping different teams of translators all over the world. But the chief reason is money. They are not selling like they used to - and they understand it's probably time for the Awake to go, but it can't be dumped in a single swoop, so they are setting the stage now for further change if the trend continues.

  Is that a typo or is the size of the monthly awake going from 32 to 48 ?

  It's gonna be 32 pages as usual. There aren't any news about a change in the number of pages so far.

  by that, i mean, some witnesses will not just now "out" themselves because of various fears and concerns.

  some of us are still "in the closet".

  so to speak, because we're not ready to expose ourselves to the "loving brothers", just yet---at least not 100 %.

  Welcome to JWD!

  MJ came to my door in the US a few times, true story. Tried to sell me tracts. I was a kid and my brother would chase him down the street screaming "hey, its Michael Jackson!"

  I'd love to hear more about it! Was he by himself, did he wear weird clothes and stuff?
