my husband had gotten into a fight with a couple of victims of different pedophiles, he said in all his years of elderhood, "men and women who were sexually assualted came forward when they were old enough, they did not wait for decades to report they were abused.

you must have some kind of false memory or you are just trying to bring shame to the congregations.

I have a hard time believing anything you say, Aunti, but if you are on the up and up here as you claim to be, you have to be one of the most twisted and despicable people ever to show up on this website. Your lack common sense, compassion for others, and the basic sense of right and wrong that most kindergartners have mastered is astounding. Your vision of the world around you and the people in it is so skewed and distorted it's a wonder you can walk down the street without falling over.

For everyone's sake get some professional help so you can get clear of that mental haze you are lost in. You will be better for it and the world will make more sense to you, but more importantly you'll take appropriate action to ensure that those who truly deserve to be brought to justice will be. Pedephilia is incurable, and those who are guilty of it should be held responsible for their actions regardless of when it happened. No amount of "good" that this particular perpetrator has done for the organization can make up for what he's done - that is not a "get out of free" card he can play, and if you believe it is then you are no better than he is. The ripple effects of his heinous acts will not be blotted out by any "good" he's done for anyone else.

i'm sure some of you chuckled when you read the topic, or wondered if this was sarcasm, but i'm being serious.

yes, witnesses number less than one in a thousand, but that's still millions of people.

I've wondered myself why someone would convert as an adult. I had a friend who did this while in his 40s and I just couldn't believe it. We were both raised Catholic, and while I dropped my belief in Catholicism, and eventually Christianity, I never felt a compulsion to find something to replace it. He grew up with a chip on his shoulder toward his mother and even practiced shunning her when he was quite young, years before he encountered JWism. I can't help but feel that getting sanction for shunning from the JWs played into his decision to convert - he used to take great pleasure in telling me about shunning his mom when he was a teenager. Thankfully, he left them after having been an elder for a number of years, but he won't admit that he was in a cult.

IPOD help!!

i have been putting all my cds onto my new ipod.. i am only half way through this, and my hard disk is almost full, as itunes keeps the audio files on the computer.. every time i plug in my ipod, any tracks i have removed from my hard drive to make room for new music is deleted from the ipod.. i want to keep all the music on the ipod, and get rid of all the cds stored on my hard disk without them being removed form the ipod.. the instructions are so rudimentary i dont know what to do.

i am not prepared to buy yet another computer because of this.. help appreciated.. hb.

I had some fun today.

when i learned ttatt i fell in deep depression.

after i came out of the depression i started to look for the right religion.. i wanted desperately to find the "truth" .

i was confused since many top xjw went different paths.

cyberjesus, it's my feeling you are now closer to truth than ever. Yes, at the end we find out we really know nothing; believe it or not, that's a good place to be because it leaves you open to seeing and experiencing life without a filter of ideas to distort that seeing; it leaves you in a state of innocence. The problem with religion is that it convinces people they are the repository of truth and followers must regulate their life and thought processes according to the dictates of that religion. But really religion boils down to a bunch of BELIEFS/thoughts/ideas, beliefs which get debated back and forth as though truth resides within them. Perhaps whatever "truth" is has nothing whatsoever to do with beliefs/ideas. Laying aside all beliefs and ideas about "truth" is, in my opinion, a good first step in seeing life with clarity, in seeing life as it actually is in this very moment. Being fully present to this moment AS IT IS removes the mind from the picture. That's a good thing because mind is the battlefield of competing beliefs/ideas, not only among people but within ourselves. Without the mind we remove the bars of the prison within which we have become trapped..
