Brian L. Weiss

i recently reconnected with an old ex-jw friend who served as an elder when i was growing up.

he has since taken to the belief in reincarnation & past lives.

he lent me a copy of the many lives, many masters by brian l. weiss, m.d.

I've heard of Weiss and have seen the book. It's nothing I haven't come across before - it's interesting stuff. I wouldn't put much stock in this being tantamount to Scientology teachings. You might want to read Journey of Souls, by Michael Newton to further explore the idea of souls and what they do between lives.

ever had an out-of-body experience?

once in a while, usually in the morning shortly after waking up, i find my "body" lifting up from my physical body, but i remain attached at the head.

it's a very pleasant experience but i wish i could totally separate from the physical body so i could go exploring.

this happened this morning again.. .

My limited experiences have always been spontaneous, without any intent to bring them about. It seems the key is becoming lucid during the dream state or remaining mentally awake while the body falls asleep. I've heard of each of these exit methods before and have tried to bring them about, but have never been successful at achieving either. What are your methods for doing each of these?

it sounds to me like "they tear off armours from us.

" or they tear of arms for us.

Just the JW's.
They are the only ones compelled to make a vow to; "God's Spirit Directed Organization", the name of the wild beast.

Does that mean they weren't the wild beast prior to the change in the baptismal vows?

So, ablebodiedman, does that mean that anyone who is baptised in a similar manner also has the mark of the beast, or just the JWs? I'm sure they aren't the only ones who are baptised in that way.

he mentioned that we don't want to stumble anyone so that they won't hear our message.

It's always been that way no matter whose government it is. All soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines worldwide are considered expendable so long as they serve to maintain their government's agenda. It's a worldwide con game perpetrated upon each nation's citizens, and until every nation's people collectively do something about it war will never end. Think that will happen? Not anytime soon, if ever, because that will necessitate a complete change in the consciousness of humanity. In the meantime we will continue to kill eachother so that a few can benefit from it and continue the con. And who benefits? It's not just governments but the military industrial complex.

"Don't believe me? Google experiments by the government where military were used as guinea pigs, without even informed consent. Just another collective if you ask me, where the individual means nothing."

Yes, it's sad but true.

"I was told that in Marine boot camp (60's and 70's), soldiers were told to do bizarre things, like sleep with their rifle and recite strange lines. They do it because they are told to do it. It is part of breaking down the individual and introducing the collective. The things they are asked to do don't have to make sense."

Yup, very common back then in the Corps; I don't really know how things have changed in today's Marine Corps, but that's the way it was back then. It was part of the process to break us down and out of our independent ways of thinking and doing things so we could be built back into members of an effective fighting force, a force that would follow orders while under the extreme stress of combat. And if we didn't do it there were consequences. For the most part it worked. It is a kind of brainwashing that was necessary.

Notably, it's the young people that are most suseptable to this tactic. As people age and mature they see the manipulation that is being used, but young people are eager to please, and the desire to be viewed by others as strong and competent reinforced the tactic. The worse thing was to fail your fellow Marine and comrade in arms. And by the way, never call a Marine a soldier - he is a MARINE. Soldiers are Army. Marines are instilled with a lot of pride for being part of an elite branch of service, and to be called a soldier is almost an insult. That's part of the brainwashing that sticks with you, even after more than 40 years. There is a saying, Once a Marine always a Marine (there are no ex-Marines).
