I hope JamesThomas sees your post and responds. I haven't seen him on JWD for some time and his absence is sorely missed. Edited to add: Knowing JT the way I do I am certain he already has peace

Signs of Spring
by poppers inthis morning i saw my first robin of spring - always a nice sight here in northern wisconsin.
there were also lots of newly arrived redwing blackbirds singing happily - after their winter absence the sounds of their calls was so refreshing to hear.
one of my favorite signs of spring, believe it or not, is a faint scent of skunk smell in the air.

"He hides our relationship and me from his friends, family and neighbors! He is controlling, selfish and rarely tells the truth!"
Really now, hard could it be to break away from someone like this? Just leave and don't look back. And please, examine your own beliefs about who you think you are.

Outdoor Spirituality.
by jeeprube ini often find myself engaged in outdoors activities.
once while fly-fishing on a sunday, i realized a deep spiritual feeling.
standing in a trout stream, watching an otter swim by, and listening to the gurgle of moving water, i felt closer to god than i ever had in a kingdom hall.. has anyone else ever felt this?

Yes. My most powerful experience while outdoors was while walking in a redwood forest - while among the incredible presence of those magnificent trees "I" was nowhere to be found. Nature is like that - while fully immersed in nature the pettiness and confining structure of the separate entity of "me-ness" dissolves, leaving one free of all mental entanglements, judgments, and labels; free of the past, free of thoughts of the future, fully in the present moment - I would call that spirituality in its most pristine sense.

Another Russian hero of the Cold War era: Captain Alexi Vostrikov, whose heroics were the basis of the film K-19 - The Widowmaker. From Amazon.com: Based on an incident that was officially suppressed for 28 years, K-19: The Widowmaker is a fine addition to the "sub-genre" of submarine thrillers. The first major American film about Russian cold war heroes, it re-creates the nightmare endured in 1961 by the crew of the Soviet nuclear submarine K-19, when an exposed reactor core nearly resulted in a nuclear catastrophe. Several crewmen died, and K-19's captain (played by Harrison Ford) had to assert his command when near-mutiny favored his executive officer (Liam Neeson). This escalating tension gives the film its potent dramatic thrust, and both Ford and Neeson deliver intense performances while director Kathryn Bigelow (Near Dark, Strange Days) ably controls a sub full of seething testosterone. It's not as viscerally thrilling as the classic Das Boot or U-571, and some K-19 survivors protested the inclusion of inauthentic drinking scenes, but the movie benefits from grand-scale production values, seamless computer graphics, and a compelling real-life twist. --Jeff Shannon
A movie should be made of what this other man did in 1983, and a portion of the profits should be sent to him. -

Seeing 6 billion corpses rotting in the sun, with birds pecking out the eyeballs. Pretty sick, huh?

What is spirituality?
by jwfacts inwhat does it mean to be spiritual?
jws do not seem to have very much of it.
they talk reguarly about god, but they can not have a real relationship with jesus, can only approach jehovah through jesus, with the wts somewhere in between and do not believe in the holy spirit as a person.

"I just finally feel at one with nature and God, if that makes any sense"
I'd say that's about as spiritual as it can get. Good for you.
