Uh, no. Shunning and such will continue. Cruelty still exists within the JW religion and will continue to do so. They will likely make some changes to policy on the way that sexual abuse is handled, just enough to satisfy the courts, and that's it. Jackson made it very clear that they have no intent of letting up on their shun fun. -

Standing for Judge Okay - Standing for Anthem Wrong
by berrygerry infor decades before leaving, i always found this contradiction so hypocritical, and one of the harshest, emotionally damaging, things that this cult does to its young.

Maybe technically it wasn't against the rules, but my parents and others I knew made their kids sit at times. I got in trouble with one teacher over it, and other teachers made me sit out in the hall and walk back into the room when it was over. I eventually wised up to the fact that I could stand without making such a scene and went that route as I got older. -

" --is no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses"
by prologos ini am too old understand the rc exchanges, but i can think of this scenario:.
a brother writes a letter that he can not continue support the organisation, congregation because of the spasm between new and old light*, will stop service.
* within a short time a brother is found to be a serial child rapist and because of the publicity,- disfellowshipped .

Oh yeah, fading was preferable but we didn't want to play their game. It takes to much mental and emotional energy to keep up appearances for people that are poised to hit you with the shun gun at first chance. I'll post my whole story soon. Just trying to get the whole ordeal done for now. Elders aren't sure they have our DA letters that were sent almost two weeks ago. Who knows who gets the mail or what they do with it, lol. Such a clusterf@#k, the whole thing. There is no such thing as "live and let live" in the Borg. You will be assimilated or you will eventually be forced out organizationally or by family and friends one at a time as you fade. Not many people that I've seen can walk away without losing almost everything and everyone they had in the religion. All or nothing is the name of the game. -

Lumping everybody together is convenient. My wife and I just DA'd and are waiting for notification of our announcement. Maybe if the two of us go out together people may realize it was our choice, who knows. A few do know for sure, as we wrote goodbye letters to family. -

@umbertoecho
I thought the same thing. Jackson was using it as a chance to witness about the size of the organization and the supposed brotherhood where elders know and care about all of their sheep (never seen it). Blah, blah, blah, just a lot of fluff and McLellan get sick of it.
I love how Jackson gets mad when Angus doesn't follow along as he goes on his long diatribes with scriptures about something that doesn't answer the question asked anyway. Angus is shuffling papers and preparing his next point as Jackson attempts to dazzle them, and then Jackson gets mad and questions whether or not Angus can hear him. You're not so worshiped on this stage, eh Mr. Jackson? You can't get away with deflection so easily, can you? I love how they call him out for not answering direct questions, though honestly I think they're giving him too much leeway to dodge and divert with his "explanations" of things that frankly aren't often even relevant. He's trying to take control of the hearing with his long forays into other topics to divert and delay. I'm glad that it isn't working.
Oh, and sorry, but I can't remember the various female judges off the top of my head. I'm terrible with Bible stories. My wife was talking about it while we were watching, but she went to bed, where I need to head off to myself. I want to stay up but can't pay for it tomorrow at work.

Man, has anyone else been screaming at the screen for the RC to point out that women were indeed judges in the Bible? Jackson keeps saying that it has been men only throughout, and that's not true. I hope they use that at some point.
I wish I didn't have to get some sleep, but work will be there tomorrow whether I get some or not. Stupid lunch. Come on, let's keep this going!

Wow, what do you expect? You get to hide and he should have to answer for you? It isn't fair to expect him to do anything more than he did, which seems healthy to me. -

2007 Awake mentions Child Abuse in Australia!
by SG098 inin the october 2007 awake!
page 11, the b0rg had the audacity to say this concerning child sexual abuse: "sadly, though, most of such [child abuse] crimes go unpunished by authorities today.
in australia, for example, it has been estimated that only 10 percent of offenders are prosecuted, and few are convicted.

It is truly mind blowing how they can write a lot of what they write with a straight face. Articles on how we should never give anyone the silent treatment and then they impose shunning, pictures condemning peddling of medical treatments while they are the chief peddlers of the Word, and mentions like this one that show a total lack of self-awareness. They are just a caricature of what they think they are.
