  @OrphanCrow - Right near the beginning of the last guy that asked the question about them showing empathy and not waiting until 2018 to step up. Somewhere right at the beginning of him addressing the two losers did it accidentally cut to Angus and at least in real time both my wife and I noticed that he appeared to be laughing, smiling greatly, whatever you choose to call it. You could tell that he saw them as ridiculous even during questioning.

  i hope someone or more here will be watching and giving info/quips throughout the case.

  @Pubsinger - Your concern about what can really happen is warranted. However, every exposure of who JWs really are helps. It helps other governments take note. It builds cases against them. Maybe more importantly, these videos wake people up. Round one helped me tremendously, and others as well, to leave the cult. If that is the only power it has, it was worth it.

  Somehow other churches, "false religion" as JWs would call them, have managed to be so much more cooperative. Jehovah's Witnesses do little more than release a letter saying that victims don't have to face accusers. They're trying to get away with the bare minimum.

  I don't know who the last guy was that questioned the Watchtower tools, but I loved his point. Are they going to wait until absolutely necessary to offer redress? He was looking for human compassion or empathy out of their robots, which is hard to find there or from their apologists here. They don't care about anything but legalities as a very legalistic organization, lacking basic humanity.

  Did anyone else notice the accidental cutaway to Angus laughing at them? I loved that.

  Those two guys that they put up were a train wreck, but it's hard to find good, well rounded people there. Mostly mindless, heartless automatons. I got so sick of the fake respect given to the court with "if I may", "with all due respect" , etc., over and over and over, all the while showing a complete lack of respect by not actually acting, waiting until the last minute to even look at things, trying to weasel out of redress, etc.

  once again, the arc has brilliantly highlighted the reality that any witness who either fades or disassociates is subjected to active official shunning by the organization.. the "brothers" tried to state that it was the choice of the indiviual who steps away from the organization to shun them!

  they actually tried to make it out to be the fault of the one who leaves!

  then they tried to say that those who fade are not shunned!.

  i can easily believe that thousands did all through the watchtowers glory years but especially after '95 the whole thing has been unravelling.

  kidding yourself to maintain family relationships and social networks is *somewhat* understandable in life but on your deathbed?.

  i think the demographic for jw's may actually get younger as time goes on.

  The Danger of Settlements

  i was pondering the recent influx of lawsuits against wt, specifically in regards to the child abuse cases (ie.

  conti, fessler, lopez, etc).. in each of these, wt has settled for an "undisclosed" amount, assumed to be in the millions of dollars each.

  i know there are many many more cases, subject for a different thread i'm sure.. i was reading something completely unrelated a while back that mentioned the dangers of settlement agreements for a large corporation or business (not just wt).

  Like I said earlier, JW defenders like Fisherman focus on legalities because they cannot defend Jehovah's Witnesses morally even by JWs own doctrine regarding reporting wrongdoing. I have to walk away because you disgust me just like your pedo pal organization. I hope the things you protect with glee are never visited upon your family.
