@NY44M - Ah, that was before my time. I was born in 77 and my parents became dubs when I was 8-9ish. Good old Freedom Hall was a great place for a convention though. I hated when we had to move to Evansville Indiana from there. I never liked traveling to the conventions much. I love hotels and staying in them, but I hated ever going to breakfast because the brothers and sisters were ridiculous in the way they behaved and it just made me feel bad. I would go out and buy breakfast just to not have to be around them. Don't have to do that anymore!

Two things here, no three.
1. Crazy is going to crazy. Set boundaries and put them in their place.
2. Lock down your profile if you can to make it private and just between friends, or if you want to keep it public know that you're in for a fight.
3. The whole "love on the dl" thing. I don't know who you're talking to or who is talking there exactly, but in the end you and him have to be willing to be public with everything and run her off if need be. Actually, it is his mom, and he needs to put and end to it himself. He needs to stand up to her and enforce consequences for her actions. At some point in all of this he has to be willing to do whatever it takes to keep crazy away, and if he's not or he ends up trying to hide his relationship with you or something to pacify mommy, dude's got mommy issues and needs to grow up before he's ready for a relationship.

every time i think i've heard everything, something else pops up.. now i've come across a youtube video that mention tv evangelizer jimmy swaggart and the watchtower.

Where did I address you specifically in my post? You aren't that former poster so why do you care if I referenced him. I never said that you pushed it off subject, so why so defensive? I merely brought the topic back around to the realities if the situation rather than speculation over things that didn't occur. Why does that bother you?

Other than taking the subject at hand off in another direction, which is a tactic of the old poster who was banned with his legalistic ramblings designed to throw the actual topic off course, why does it matter who would have paid taxes? It didn't happen, and obviously the Borganization was concerned about it, and it resulted in changes and lies to the rank and file about why the new donation arrangement. JWs were once again proven to be dishonest and aligning themselves with anyone necessary to protect their money, as no matter who paid it would have impacted their bottom line, the only thing that really makes them change.

Lmao at Jehovah's Witnesses aligning themselves as an organization in a way that could even give the appearance of impropriety regarding supporting him. They counsel against doing that all the time. They are hypocrites with much more than a rafter in their eye, they have the whole forest, despite attempts at obfuscation put out by their supporters.

@NY44m - Glad you like it! Thanks for the well wishes too. :)
I'm really from Louisville KY and know more people on that side of the river, but my wife is from Seymour IN and we spent our married life in Clarksville IN so we did get to know people in deep southern IN. Pm me if you want to throw some names my way.
Enjoy your day!

@siar - Yeah, I had to delay putting this one out. I only get x amount of space on my media server that I pay for each month to host the podcast and had to wait until it reset August 1. Then I also got a bad chest cold over the weekend that I'm struggling to shake. Yesterday was the first day my voice was close to normal. Hopefully it sounds okay. I spot listened but had some voice issues after talking so long. Gonna give it a listen this morning myself.

Episode 8 - Get Out Of Her, My People - It All Came Tumbling Down, is now out. This is a long one and the next to last in my story. This is where it all went down. There comes a point in life when you know too much to ever go back to the person you once were, or to the cult that you once called home. Unfortunately there are no easy ways to leave a cult. This is my journey out and I detail the price that was paid for my freedom.
I'm up over 6300 downloads now and just got another great iTunes review, woohoo!

Using Illegal Means for Righteous Activism
by John Davis ini wanted to get people's opinion on something.
how do you feel when people use illegal means while performing their activism to shed light on the watchtower.
there have been people who have illegally recorded conversations with elders and with branch offices or at meetings.

It is absolutely the right thing to do Richard Oliver.
Why do you seek so hard to protect your cult?

New Announcement At The 2017 - DF'd People To Sit At The Back Of The Hall

@problemaddict - I *think* they did encourage people to shun non-disfellowshipped people that are living "immoral" lifestyles. In other words, there are lots of people that have faded but that lead lives that appear basically "good" from a JW perspective and you don't need to shun them. However, if a person is leading a life that would get them dfed should they go to meetings, then you should shun them. People have taken that admonishment and created "shun non-dfed" people out of it, taking it farther than what was really said. I remember discussions about it back then.
Let's face it though, Jehovah's Witnesses shun anyone they want anytime they want for any reason that they want. Plenty of people never even got baptized and are shunned, people faded or are just inactive and are shunned by family and friends, they are one shun happy organization whether or not it is all officially sanctioned.
