After a page or two, those threads serve no purpose. It doesn't take 12+ pages to unveil who a person is and their motives. It's more just a battle of ego at a point. It can be hard to walk away though.

Is it just me ? 2 threads debating page after page with one individual ?
by smiddy inis it just me who doesnt see the point of this ?
from time to time we see some individual who takes up page after page arguing his or her point of view and it usually ends up with only 2 or 3 individuals who keep the talkfest going with a particular individual and nobodys getting anything out of it .. why bother ?
why get sucked in to such a pointless dialogue ?

I like how all the quotes are from girls because, you know, everything is their fault, including looking older than one is. It's all your fault ladies.
This is the dumbest thing ever. Loved the video.

ARC Analysis Summary of Case Files
by Richard Oliver ini have been doing research on the arc as some people on here have suggested.
i find it interesting on the case file analysis some of the findings.
it looks like queensland and new south wales had the biggest problems with this.

Should we give Watchtower a standing ovation for finally cooperating with the court, and still failing to be transparent?

Richard, what is the point that you're trying to make here? You seem to have some sort of angle, but I'm unsure as to where you're going with any of this. Are trying to say that the Borganization can't be sued successfully over sexual abuse? Is that it? Or are you just trying to say that pedophilia isn't that bad in the Borg? What is your point?

I tried to get your feelings on the matter Richard, your personal answers to my questions, again not the technicalities that you seem to hold dear for some reason. I do agree with your assertions that the dubs have done a great job of creating toxic environments without being so stupid as to put it all in writing. Gaslighting is rarely ever seen by the world at large, only the poor abused victims have a chance at seeing it. Monsters exist in the dark, they rarely make it public.

Richard, you focused on one word of my post and ignored most of it. Not a great answer. Official or not, those of us that were in the congregations knew the unofficial policies, which dominate and make it such a great cult. A master manipulator isn't stupid enough to put everything in writing. Even so, the two witness rule is in writing and is laughable. Regardless, you clearly only have aim at technicalities and trying to discount the travesty that is Jehovah's Witnesses. Sad.

Voting At Meetings
by Spoletta inwhy is it that the watchtower finances are cloaked in secrecy, yet when the congregation is ask to approve extra donations to the organization, the voting is in public, so everyone can see who is "loyal" to jehovah.. hmm... i think i just answered my question.

Haha, I made waves a few times, like when I was trying to step down as a regular pioneer and the PO wouldn't let me. He just kept pushing me to press on and laid on his guilt trips. So I waited for the circuit overseer's visit, grabbed the PO and CO, and told them both in no uncertain terms that I would no longer be pioneering despite the POs reluctance to accept my resignation. I was hammered on a meeting, one on one with the PO, after the visit, for my "disrespect". Lol, like he respected me and my wishes. I still can't believe it took me until 38 to disassociate. I was in my late teens and early twenties for these instances.

I didn't read all of this, but Richard, do you agree or disagree with the assertion that Jehovah's Witnesses have policies that are wrong and contribute to abuse being swept under the rug? Do they put children outside the Borg at risk by failing to report? Have they been gulity of destroying evidence? Have they discouraged victims from reporting to police? Have they discouraged victims from getting proper and professional therapy to help them? Do you agree or disagree that there is system in place in the organization that falls woefully short?
Those are the issues at hand, not how a number that was supplied by Watchtower and that some have come forth showing that they weren't included, breaks down technically. Many never even report, and with such a daunting and dehumanizing system put forth by Jehovah's Witnesses, can you blame them?

Ugh, I hated that. One time our PO got up there with a motion to remodel the Hall. In my opinion we didn't need it, and we could build several Halls in areas that needed it with those same funds. He proudly announced that there'd have to be something wrong with you not to agree on this one, and my wife and I raised our hands like good robots. Afterward though, I caught him in a foyer and told him to let the record reflect two dissenters and that I thought what he did was wrong. I'm sure I was on a list somehow, but I always challenged them.

Are baptized Witnesses that are no longer in the "truth", but were NEVER DF'D, now to be shunned and treated like disfellowshipped ones?
by Dunedain ina relative of mine was telling me, that in his, and a few neighboring congregations, there is a little confusion amongst some of the jw's about this "issue".
some families are having a hard time about whether certain relatives will be attending certain family functions, because some family members that are no longer in the "truth", might be invited to these functions.
mind you, these persons were never disfellowshipped.

Cobweb nailed it, and we all knew what "serious sin" would represent when we were in, and no it wasn't being inactive. There is no official shunning the faded policy, not that it stops some overzealous ones from doing so.
