You already posted that above ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^, twisted as it is. Just trying to hear your own echo? I'm sure your twin will be here shortly to reiterate your JW position. And yes, you live in a fantasy world, on an apostate forum, with a pro-JW stance, all the while JWs are looking forward to you becoming bird food due to your sexuality, which they view as a moral failing and choice rather than just who you are. Perhaps even your friend Fisherman feels that way about you, as he tends to view things through the JW lens, and let's face it, we all know what the Bible says if that's your end all be all for life.

I need help understanding my moms decision!
by Holzy86 infirst of all i'm not a jahovas witness, my mother is.
i've asked my mother for some help over the weekend for my sons birthday, i understand jw do not celebrate birthdays.. every year i take my son out for a treat day, this year he has asked me if he can bring friends too so i said i only have enough room for one but he has asked for two, so i said i will ask nanny if she will help out to take my other son in her car with my netphew and older sister, but as soon as i mentioned it was for a birthday treat she refused to help me.. i just need to know if jahovahs witnesses will refuse to help family out when asking for help, i feel i've asked and made sure all the people she will be giving a lift to that it is not there birthday.
his birthday has just happened to have fallen on the weekend when we would have been taking him because he is at school monday to friday.

Lol, she's so stupid she can't spell Jehovah or figure out who populates this site but she's pumping out life advice and trying to tell us what goes on here. Please study and join the cult. You belong there. -

Oh dear, thanks for the lecture on the use of the word cult to people whose lives were stolen by it. Please, tell us more about how it is. I was in for three decades, a pioneer, ministerial servant, and finally woke up to the truth about the cult. Others here were in even longer. This place is the truth about "The Truth". Jehovah's Witnesses are poison.

It's not a birthday party yet in your original post you told her it was a "birthday treat". So what is it? Maybe she's as confused as I.

My older brother has stopped his bible study
by pale.emperor ingood news people.
my older brother has abruptly stopped his bible study with the witnesses.
he was part-time shunning me during his study and his behavior was beginning to change into cult mode but he was thankfully woken up.

You asked her to help facilitate a birthday party. She is opposed to birthday parties. What is hard to understand? You're trying to spin it into "she's jusr unwilling to help her grandkids" and conveniently leaving out the "celebrate a birthday " part.
Yes, pretty much all JWs would do the same. That's because they're in a cult that tells them what to do, what not to do, what to think, how to feel, etc.

Were You Ever A True Believer?
by minimus ini was raised in the religion and for the most part believed that my religion was truth.
i recognized some mistakes were occasionally made but felt that nobody is perfect.
then i smartened up and realized how dumb so many of the beliefs are....was there ever a time that you truly believed you had the "truth"?.

Absolutely. As a natural black and white thinker and a people pleaser (rule follower) I was primed as a child to be a great JW and I was. I bought in totally.

Parents became dubs when I was somewhere around 8-9, I think, and I disassociated at 38, so 30 years or so. My wife was 1 when her parents became dubs, and 35 when she disassociated, so 34 years or so.
Of course, even after your leave, all of the opportunities lost impact the rest of your life. It was the waste that just keeps on giving.

River flowing from the garden of Eden
by joey jojo inhey there.. if this point has been covered before please forgive me.. i have had the principles of noahs flood used by jw's to encourage me to attend meetings recently and this has got me musing about the flood....again.. genesis states that a river flowed from eden and branched out into four rivers, two of which being the tigris and the euphrates.. heres the baffling part; if it had never rained before, how is it that rivers existed before the flood?!!?.
a brief google search tells us that the euphrates begins its journey as snow melt and rain ( as most rivers do) in mountains in turkey.. ecc chapter 1 mentions the water cycle and describes the rivers flowing into the sea but the sea not becoming full.
how did it work pre-flood?

Because God. That's the answer to anything nonsensical.
