@WGO - I love podcasts too. I hope iTunes approves me soon so that I people can subscribe. You can download from my site. I think they can subscribe somehow now through Libsyn, or there might be an RSS feed on my site there for them, but iTunes is more universal and I know that a lot of podcatchers pull from iTunes. I'll update here on the forum when I release new episodes, and when iTunes approves me.

Jehovah's Witnesses act like 'Flirts' with people!
by stuckinarut2 inwe were just musing that jws act in a "flirtatious" manner with people in the community.. they show such "sincere" interest in people when they call.
they seem like such kind, caring and thoughtful people - really interested in their lives and welfare.. people are often quite impressed with the jws manner, and their well dressed presentation.
people (especially vulnerable ones who are going through difficult pressures in life), are drawn in and made to feel special by the witnesses as they call back.. return visits take place.

Wow, I never thought of it in this particular terminology, but flirting is completely appropriate for what they do. Interesting concept.

Lol @ Nathan Natas! Where should I turn my slip in? Maybe go to the local Kingdom Hall? It could be kind of awesome to come up with my own apostate slip and walk into the hall where I disassociated and turn it in.

So, I did a thing today. I officially launched a podcast called "This JW Life". People keep saying that I should write a book, but I don't even read books, unless in audio format. I figured a podcast was a great way to work on my story and get it out there to help others, or just entertain those with curiosity about Jehovah's Witnesses. It's best to do this while everything is still in my memory.
I made a little logo, threw a basic website together, published the two episodes I have recorded to Libsyn, and submitted to iTunes. I'm just waiting for iTunes to approve it for their platform, but it's live on Libsyn and on my site.
I'll be sure to post when it's on iTunes, as then it will probably be picked up by any podcatchers that are out there. I hope to release a new episode each week, though it won't always be possible with work and life. I don't forsee it going on for too long, just however long it takes to tell.
I hope it helps some out there that are recovering from their own story to feel less alone. I also hope it helps some in the public to be inoculated against their message. Maybe it helps some that have friends or family that are JWs to understand what they're up against.

If you were a J.W. before July 2013..................
by The Searcher in....................then you couldn't have been "in the truth" nor was "the truth in you" until july 2013, because that month's watchtower was dedicated to reversing the following 8 "truths" and replacing them with opposing "truths".
you'd been believing and teaching falsehoods.. these are for any new members and those j.w.
's who visit here who have not seen this list before.

Wasn't it Jesus that said you will know the truth, and the truth shall change, or something like that?

Baby update and quick hello.
by Darkknight757 ini wanted to take a moment to give a quick baby update.
my last post mentioned that we lost twin b at 17 weeks but twin a is doing well so far.
we are 25 weeks tomorrow and a week past the point of viability so we are starting to get really exited for this new adventure in our lives.

Do you think the general public cares about former Jehovah's witnesses?
by Christian Gutierrez ini was wondering if you guys think if the general public cares about our stories or if they even care what the watchtower does to people??

I have told our story to friends and clients and they are interested, but likely only because they know us. I think our stories have the biggest impact in helping doubters leave and those who are out feel less alone.
Friends keep saying that I should write a book. So soon I will be launching a podcast about my life, and hopefully it helps those who are out and those who are interested out there. It was podcasts and audio books that helped save me, and that's how I consume media, so hopefully I can reach new people.

Why is the approval of family so important?
by jwfacts inone of the reasons people remain pimo is fear of losing family.
those that are disfellowshipped and shunned regularly comment about how devastated that they have lost the approval of their parents.. when i respond to emails from people saying how difficult it is being estranged or looked down on by their parents, i would like to say that over time they will come to terms with it, except i not sure that people ever do.
i cannot shake that feeling either.

There's the natural thing of that just being such a formative relationship, of course. But I also think that since we grew up in a performance based cult the approval of others, including parents, is ramped up tenfold in importance.

Will Charles Taze Russell be Resurrected With a Beard?
by Cold Steel inthe scriptures say all will be resurrected, some to eternal life, others to judgment.
so i wondered what's going to happen to those who wore beards during mortality?
picture if charles taze russell was resurrected and came face to face with joseph rutherford, second president of twt (the whole tamale) and the instigator of the beardless policy.

Have the Mormons baptized either of these men posthumously so that they can have hope? Now that's a question that really matters.
