Thanks Divergent! That illustration actually rings a bell. I could totally see someone like TOMO throwing out a blunt little quip after relating it about putting a bullet in it's head. That's why I asked about this, to see if anyone had heard anything similar. The person that my wife came across was a JW nutter, as I originally stated, and couldn't remember if it was Lett or Morris (sounds more like a Morris thing IF it even was a thing), but it was certainly worth asking about just in case someone could confirm.

My Introduction
by Ray Frankz inthis is my first post and i'm feeling like i'm doing something bad big time!
i know on my mind it isn't, but the feelings are less manageable.. well, since i'm still a jw it's better not to give too much info, but i'm from brazil.. i've grown-up in the religion and practicly all my family, my closest friends and my girlfriend are loyal jws.
i used to be a regular pioneer but i still have a service privilege on my congregation.. i've had questions about the teachings of the wt since i was 10, but naturally i always pushed it away as it were "questioning the holy organization".. i started a friendship with some people in a course i took and we talked about a lot of subjects.

Welcome! We all had to start somewhere. Come in, ask questions, read, discuss, and see where things take you. Don't try to control it, just be open and humble and you'll have a good time.

i will take you into the fog, tell you what it means, and explain it in the context of the jw culture.

@jambon - I know right? They have so much dysfunction in their "happy families". I watched my own father give his public talks on how to have a happy family while his own kids hated him. 99% of it is like a game of pretend. It is so fake and just for appearances while it paints a picture of what is outside and projects it's own dysfunction outward onto the world at large.

@Moster - That poem was something, wasn't it? It burned me up when I originally came across it. Although I was the only person to say that it was awful, there was a JW that pm'ed me that was married to an unbeliever that thanked me for taking a stand. I mean, come on, that's the most prejudicial thing. Like all marriage in the Borganization work out, lol. There's so much dysfunction and abuse in JW families, yet they call out unbelievers as if they own 100% of family troubles on this planet. It's ridiculous.
Yeah, trust issues abound with the cult. I got done wrong so many times.

Thanks guys. I just got it uploaded and then watched the first two Harry Potter movies, the first ones I've ever seen, with some exJW friends. I'm probably demon possessed now according to the JWs.
@jambon - Yeah, the watch thing was hard to take. It's been over twenty years now and it still makes me mad. I think that as much as it made me mad that it happened like that, it made me mad that my mom was so cavalier about it. Oopsy doesn't cut it at a point.

You're probably feeling extra awful right now since you just went to a convention. I cannot imagine. Ugh.
Use that as motivation, as if you needed any, and a timeline. Work every hour that you're not in cult related activities and save money. Money = options. Be determined never to go to a convention again so as to avoid this feeling. You have one year to kill it.
Focus on one thing, working and saving money. I bet you could save a lot in one year even while doing dub stuff. Work full-time. Don't be distracted by things they throw at you. Work, save, leave, live free.
