  How do you deal with the loneliness after leaving?

  i'm having one of those days where i feel lonely and wish i had someone to just hang out with.

  my husband got disfellowshipped 3 years ago and even though i didn't do anything wrong i was pushed away.

  my so called "friends" decided to avoid me.

  My wife and I have been out for two years and just got home from a movie night with a bunch of people that were never JWs. We decided when we left the cult that we'd tell everyone our story and that we'd say yes to any offers to socialize. We now have way more friends than we ever did in the cult and we can't keep up with them all. Some came from our cleaning business but we branched out from there. Follow people on Facebook and you'll have ideas for conversations.

  It's not easy. We all have a measure of awkwardness when joining the world around us, but we can overcome it. We are just open and explain why we don't get certain references or don't know the etiquette in situations. People are understanding and genuinely interested. We all have a story that is fascinating to many people if we're willing to be vulnerable.

  i see there has already been discussion over lloyd’s new book how to leave the jehovah's witnesses.

  this includes discussion around his personality, motives and financial gains.

  i have written a foreword for this book, because it is an important topic that has not been covered in such a complete format before.

  Lol JP, no need to get upset there buddy. I'm not even sure what your turnaround of my turnaround means other than that it made you feel some type of way. "With a question like that"? Must have struck a nerve. Funny how it's easy to take shots at others by heaven forbid someone ask anything of the person taking shots.

  Good day JP. Sorry I thought it was valid to try to add to the perspective. It's funny how one man's ego (Lloyd's) touches off so many other egos. Suddenly everyone is defensive.

  Exactly!
  For some people it's about the cause; for others the cause is a way to make it about them.
  YMMV

  Could it not be said that those that spend their time speaking against those that are actually doing something for the cause are making it about themselves? I like to turn things around and see how it plays from both angles.

  Can the Borg tell what sites I've been to?

  if i go to the jw website and then afterward to say this website, is it likely that the jw website has then tracked what websites i go to after visiting theirs?.

  i remember getting my ass beat .

  in 1987 / 1988 for listening to atlantic star.

  they had a song called always.. my mother sat me down anmd told me listening to music like that would just rile up my emotions and make me look for a girl to fornicate with.. like at the age of 10 i was going to take it to that level.. my mother later banned r and b from our home.... i find it all hilarious now, but a friend of mine actually sent me a link to the jw broadcast and said i had to watch this.. i told him there was no way, but he said just start at the 50:40 mark.. i do not believe that this is what the org is doing now???.

  Lol, I can't watch that crap but it sounds funny. Like how you're not supposed to play with bags and put them over your head because they might cause suffocation. Suffocation is more the style of the JW cult.

  This was great all the way through but I particularly enjoyed the ending with the image of the governing body and the remark about mental illness for partakers. So true.
