They don't hold a candle to christendom's songs. I defy you to stack Kingdumb Melodies up against the collective works of Wierd Al Yankovic.

How do the Kigdom Melodies compare to Christendom's Songs?
by Honesty ini just have to comment about the canned wtbts music on cd the local congregations play on $150 cd players through $20 speakers set in the foamboard ceilings at their sales meetings worship services.
what a joke the music is that they use to sing praises.
the lyrics remind me of a high school pep rally with all the emphasis on 'we're joe hoba's witnesses and yada-yada-yah preaching from door to door and from house to house' or 'life everlasting in the pair-o-dice' crap that just tickles the dubbies ears so much they get all pretty and pink.

Try Charmin ... it's much softer than that stack of magazines you picked up at the literature counter.

"What quality does a kid need to have in order to remain free of the indotrination?"
A healthy dose of skepticism and a questioning mind did the trick for me, especially after hearing throughout my childhood about the pagan roots of all the things a kid would otherwise like to indulge himself in (i.e., christmas gifts, birthday presents, easter candy, halloween, etc.). We were always taught to examine the facts & make a rational decision. Of course, the dubs get a little pissy when your rational decision doesn't fall on their side of the issue. -

by VM44 indid the watchtower society ban jw's from owning handguns for self defence?.
if they did, when did they issue the ban?.
didn't some of jesus's apostles carry a sword when the group traveled, to protect agains wild animals and human thieves?

"IT WILL KILL YOU... along with most everything else right? "
Precisely!
Would it make you feel any better if the majority of those murdered each year in the U.S. were hacked apart with axes or bludgeoned to death instead of being shot? -

"Why are those laws NOT being enforced in your opinion?"
Why? If I was to trot out my own personal theory, I'd say that enforcing laws is hard work and generally leads to headlines touting the efforts of the cops and prosecutors who succeed. Drafting new legislation and defaming anyone who doesn't support it generates headlines for the politicians. Introducing new legislation is an opportunity to grandstand: 'Let's do it for the children ...'
But then again, I might be cynical about it.
"If you want no additional moves to be made then just say that the 14 murders per 100,000 is ok in your book. "
First of all, it's not OK in my book. But where did you get that statistic? According to the last FBI statistics I read, the murder rate was estimated at 5.6 crimes per 100,000 inhabitants. Even the BBC pegs the U.S. murder rate at less than 7 per 100,000. Yes, we murder more of our fellow citizens than some other nations. Is it all about gun control? I don't think so.
If anything, look at the U.S. murder rates for the past century. Back when New York City and Baltimore and Washington D.C. had no handgun bans, and other states had no mandatory waiting period, before the National Firearms Act of 1934 & the Gun Control Act of 1968 ... the national muder rate in the U.S. was 1.2 per 100,000. Meanwhile, cities like Baltimore, Washington, and Los Angeles have enacted some pretty tight regulations yet have murder rates that are significantly higher than the national average.
Now, for some real fun? Tour the stats on the overall crime rate in the U.S. in comparison to other countries. Sure, you're more likely to be shot here in the U.S., but you're less likely to be burglarized or assaulted or to have your car stolen. And your likelihood of taking your own life is dramatically lower in the U.S.
I'll take the .357 with a biggie fries and a cherry coke, please. -

"What the second amendment can be argued to mean in context Myth of the Second Amendment"
Yes, I am unfortunately familiar with Brady's tragic injuries at the hands of John Hinckly and his subsequent promotion to poster child for the gun control movement. I disagree strongly with the fallacies presented on that website.
"Secondly, "large caliber" to me means ballistics larger than what has legitamate use in hunting North American game animals."
So, a .44 magnum or a .357 or a 9 mm or a 300 Weatherby Magnum or pretty much anything up to a .58 caliber are all still acceptable? "North american game animals" include deer, elk, moose, bison, and bears. And These aren't the kinds of animals you want to take down with a bolt action single shot .22 caliber rifle. Keep in mind, too, that most of these "small caliber" rounds are still significantly larger than the ammunition that an AK-47 or an SKS or an M-16 fires.
"Thirdly the 1994 ban on automatic weapons was not renewed"
I'm not talking about that weak-kneed piece of 'feel good' legislation. I'm talking about the National Firearms Act of 1934 which tightly controlled the ownership and transfers of ownership for automatic weapons. -

not beards but...double standards?
by zaphod ini saw a debate on here about why men cannot have beards in org and it kinda got me thinking.. if a sister decided that she wanted to go natural (as god intended) and not shave her legs or her armpits (let's leave lady beards - the poor cows have got enough on their plate without engaging in debate about it) would that be frowned upon?.
say, if a french or a german sister came to the congregation, looking like she was wearing afghan boots and had two fair sized hamsters nesting in her pits.
would the brothers have valid reason to counsel her?.
