My uncle married his wife when he was 19, she was 7 years older and had 3 kids. They're still married 37 years later and doing fine.
I think it really depends on the peoples mental maturity.
I know two other couples who have recently gotten married to men at least 7 years younger than themslves and they are doing fantasticly.

Which songs remind you or take you back to what events?
by doodle-v inthere are a ton of songs i hear that take me back to certain times of my life or one event in particular: .

parents just dont understand-dj jazzy jeff and the fresh prince--the summer going into six grade, i remember recording the song and trying to memorize all the words .

Have a lot of songs that remind me of past events.
One that describs how I feel at the moment though is "Left Outside Alone" by Anistaca.
All my life I?ve been waiting
For you to bring a fairy tale my way
Been living in a fantasy without meaning
It?s not okay I don?t feel safe
I don't feel safe..
Ohhh..
Left broken empty in despair
Wanna breath can?t find air
Thought you were sent from up above
But you and me never had love
So much more I have to say
Help me find a way
And I wonder if you know
How it really feels
To be left outside alone
When it?s cold out here
Well maybe you should know
Just how it feels
To be left outside alone
To be left outside alone
I tell ya..
All my life I?ve been waiting
For you to bring a fairytale my way
Been living in a fantasy without meaning
It?s not okay I don?t feel safe
I need to pray
Why do you play me like a game?
Always someone else to blame
Careless, helpless little man
Someday you might understand
There?s not much more to say
But I hope you find a way
Still I wonder if you know
How it really feels
To be left outside alone
When it?s cold out here
Well maybe you should know
Just how it feels
To be left outside alone
To be left outside alone
I tell ya..
All my life I?ve been waiting
For you to bring a fairytale my way
Been living in a fantasy without meaning
It?s not okay I don?t feel safe
I need to pray
Ohhh. Pray...
Ohh.. Heavenly father..
Save me.. Ohhhh..
Whoaooooaoooooo
And I wonder if you know
How it really feels
To be left outside alone
When it?s cold out here
Well maybe you should know
Just how it feels
To be left outside alone
To be left outside alone
All my life I?ve been waiting
For you to bring a fairytale my way
Been living in a fantasy without meaning
It?s not okay I don?t feel safe
I need to pray...Just bescribes how I feel about the Borg at the moment.

The English Language
by Simon inlet's face it - english is a crazy language.
there is no egg in eggplant nor ham in hamburger; neither apple nor pine in pineapple.
english muffins weren't invented in england or french fries in france.
-
Lehaa
Speaking of languages, sometimes I wonder why so many people say things like
you want to try and help a six year old
instead of the simpler "you want to try to help a six year old..."
No ofense, just wondering...
No offence taken, my english is terrible. I failed English twice at school and I'm dislexic( I think that's how you spell it, can't spell either). LOL

Emotional Wreck
by Puternut inthis move is harder than i thought it was going to be.
i have been doing the 'mental' work for this move for sometime now.
and the last week it's been the 'pysical' part.

I know how you feel, my parents moved me around a lot when I was a kid.
I found it easier too look forwark to what I was going to and now what I was leaving behind.
As far as leaving old friends and family, I found it easier if kept in contact with then as much as posible for the first few months. At least now with email and all that we can still remain close to those we leave behind.
Thinking of you at this time I know it is not easy. Just remamber to just do stuff as you can cope, if you need to just get out for a while to clear your head, even if it's only for 10 minutes.
All the best for the futue Putter and look forward to hearing of your new adventures in your new home.

Are women more beautiful than men?
by Vita Nuova inall things being being equal, is the feminine gender endowed with more trancendent beauty than the masculine?
before sending any stock replies like, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder," let me just say that i acknowledge some degree of relative beauty insofar as man and woman bear their own distinctive perfections.
but consider specifically which sex seems to bear more inherent grace to the end that it inspires our sense of harmony and desire to be more perfect ourselves.

I think that women are more beautiful that men, outwardly and inwardly.
But saying that i also think that men do design some really beautiful and fantastic things. They have an inward beauty that comes out in theese things that at times leaves me awestruck.
Men can be just as nurturing, caring and beautiful as women. I just think that men, still, are not encouraged enought to learn how to harness theese qualities in themselves.
Also i have gotten just as much support and care from both sexes equaly on this site and for that i thank everybody. It' s really nice to get a male point of view to my problems and experiences, it gives me a more even view of things.

Is this term a witness or "apostate" saying?
by freedom96 ini was talking to a work associate the other day.
i referred to someone as not being da'd or df'd.
he paused, chuckled, and said he had never heard that term before.. he has been an elder for twenty years.. i related the story to my wife, and she suggested that maybe those terms are "apostate" and not circulated around the hall.

My friends and I used to use those terms all the time when I was witness, they are not apostate terms.

Pet Peeves thread...
by Brummie inthis kinda thread has probably been done before... someone phones me at work and when i say hello they say "hold on" and start talking to someone else, they dont tell me who they are and i'm hanging on hearing them chat to someone who is with them on the other end, 5 mins later they introduce themselves and tell me what they want.
that is a pet peeve.. another, for example, go to the fridge and both tubs of butter are open and both blocks of cheese instead of finishing one off and then opening the other.
thats just a small pet peeve but its one none the less.. miserable sod arnt i though?.

I hate it too when people open a new container of someting when there is already one open.
People in shopping centres who see you coming with a pram and then quicly scoot in front of it, I used to slow down for them, now i just ram the pram right up there bl**dy legs, I walk quite quickly so there is no need to scoot in front of me.
People in shopping centres who just stop in the middle of the walkway for no apparent reason, or groups of people who walk really slowly in the middle of the walkway and you can't get around them no matter how many times you say excuse me.
People who arrange to meet you at a certain time and then are late all the time. My time is just as valuable as yours.
Blondie: I hate getting a wet a**e too. LOL.

We weren't allowed to have Barbie dolls because my mom thought they were anatomically correct.
LOL.
I don't like them because they are nothing like what a real woman looks like. Would love to see your mom, she must be about 7 foot tall, with really long legs, anorexic with boobs so huge the she keeps falling forward.
Just kidding.LOL
