i won't be forcing myself to sit through an enormously boring and depressing meeting.
Just being home on the weekend and not feeling guilty about it is a big treat after years of running in circles.
It is wonderful - isn't it! Someone sent me photos of the DC this weekend and I at this point in my life I can't even imagine having to sit through one of those for THREE DAYS!!!!!

i went away last week with my boyfriend (imissmaine) and the day after boarding our cruise ship we were walking around before dinner.
just after sunset we happened to be on one of the decks overlooking the water and talking when he got down on one knee and proposed!.
so in case you were wondering, i said "yes!

I agree with the other posters who talk about honesty. I did the whole lying routine (because I thought it was easier) and it came back to bite me when my mother called me on it. There were no more excuses at that point.
Although telling him straight up how things are for you is very, VERY difficult, in the long run you will feel better if you are honest. Then you will have nothing to hide. JMHO

yesturday "my" little daschund - sara - was knocked and killed.
she was a miniture dashund that came into my life a year and a half ago.
the cutest lil thing you have ever seen.
I hear you. I never really liked daschunds until my friend got a mini. That little dog has so much personality, I would swear it loves everyone equally. I am so very sorry for your loss.

i've heard stories from people multiple times about their trips to california and how they were surprised to find out how lax the witlesses out there were concerning rules, behavior.
just wondering if anyone can confirm or deny that.
I remember hearing about So. Cal. sisters not wearing nylons because it was hot in the summer -- and how that was a big deal to us sisters in the North because we had to wear them to all the conventions. How lame is that.
I just ran in to an old friend (who is DF'd btw) and he told me about some of the wild parties he went to (he is in his 20s). He was an elders son and if he was going, then the other kids in the hall would be able go. He said alcohol was always there as well as pot and other drugs. However, I am sure that kind of behavior is not limited to California JWs.
