One time I brought up to an active witness that I knew about what I was finding in the Internet (the negative stuff withing the Watchtower organization), and his response was that the Internet was evil, then I told him that The Watchtower was also in the Internet, and he remained silent. I also mentioned to him that while attending the meetings I had learned that it was a good idea to investigate one's own religion, and I indicated that that was exactly what I was doing.

What was your most humiliating point of being a jw?
by love11 inmine was when my mom signed me up to sit at a table at our local university.
we had to sit there and talk to students as they passed by our table.
a few people came up to start a conversation and i didn't even know what they were talking about.

I can think of one right now, but there is several. When they would invite me after the meetings to go on a picnic at a certain public park, and I was supposed to bring the cold drinks and I would arrive prepared, and nobody else would show up, that's how they displayed ther "agape" love for their fellowman.
I guess they got tired of I being around with them for such a very long time, and not getting baptized.

I remember too very vividly how on January 1, 1975 I woke up and the first thing I did was look out the window to encounter paradise, and I saw cars go by and the traffic lights operating as usual ( I used to live at a busy street). Lately I have mentioned this to active witnesses, and some of them are so blind folded that they don't even know about this event in 1975, and some other ones do not even remember. In fact in the mid's 1980's I too had fogotten about this, until I went to an assembly, and when the assembly was over outside the stadium where the assembly took place there were people outside protesting and holding placards, and one read: "What happened in 1975?" and then I said: Ah! my God, that's true! Another thing that happens today is that when I bring this up to active witnesses they ask for proof of that. Have a nice day!

The Money Is Drying Up In The Organization!
by minimus inmy mother told me that the congregation has been pretty much begging for money for the local kingdom hall.
after the presiding overseer expressed the state of debt and severe lack on contributions, he then asked the congregation to approve a resolution to send mor money to the society!!!
i don't know how they are able to function.

Am sure the money is dying in the congregation, specially when the Watchtower society charges them for rent, and some might dislike paying for rent. That reminded me when they stopped setting prices for the merchandise, and it was supposed to be that for the merchandise everyone would contrubute on a voluntary basis, but every one got greedy, they would order more than normal perhaps more than twice, and when the merchandise came in hardly anybody would contribute. Then the letter came in from Brooklyn, stating that we owed so much, and that we were supposed to pay. I remember one of the elders telling us over and over that we owed that money and that we had to pay for it.

Similarities and the Hierarchy. From the top of my head, more or less this is the way it goes: Pope=President. Cardinals=Faithful and discreet Slave (board of directors). Bishops=overseers. Priests-elder. People attending mass=Interested people., etc. etc. Does the Bible and Christ agree with hierarchies?

Tell them that attending would interfere with your conscience and your religious believes and that you feel better off not going, and then thank them.
