I was going to post a response but couldn't think of it in time until I thought about what would happen if a man had posted that same rhyme... exjdub (heading for cover!! LOL!)
i have finally had a little time to pause for some reflection, lately been either sick(flu) or fighting fatigue to get work done while sick with the flu.. one of my favorite pastimes is to tune into jwd and read all your arguements for and against things of the paranormal nature, mysticism, evolution, and things like these.
i do enjoy those that are of a scientific shaped logic and lean more heavily towards some of their well thought out replies, i see them as open minded for the most part, and know i would never be able to research to the degree they do the subject of evolution and patiently try to deal with some rather set in their ways creationist.
they have brought a wealth of information to our board, that no doubt help many rid themsevles of the god(of the bible) delusion, a rather mean and nasty delusion that many jws need to shake to make thier coming out of mind control more complete.. while i have given up on the god delusion pretty completely, i have not become a complete materialist.
frankiespeakin,
I have to also say that I enjoy your threads, they always make me think and explore. I remember a thread you started a while ago about awakening the Kundalini. Very interesting topic, as this one is. The problem is that I don't generally have an opinion to offer as I am still exploring and have not come to too many conclusions yet, although it is not a problem for me as I have enjoyed the journey. I always appreciate it when someone brings up a topic that makes me think.
Tetrapod:
I enjoy your posts as well, although I know I don't say it enough to the people that post things that I enjoy. You are another mind expanding author of threads and I appreciate your take on matters.

Great letter tsof. It won't move the GB, but like you said, if you can get even one person out of the Borg the letter has served it's purpose.

what truth am i talking about?
freedom?
if bin laden is killing americans because he 'hates freedom' (as bush and the yellow-media put it), then why aren't we allowed to see his videos full-length with english subtitles?
it's weird, because i was totally expecting you to say that the onus lies with us, us human beings to stand up for ourselves in relation to the cosmos and nature, and make positive changes for this earth with our own hands and minds. but instead you invoke the God and the solution that your percieved enemy, George W. Bush invokes himself.
Those were my thoughts exactly, Tetrapod.
Santisimo...is it lost on you that Bush is a Christian and believes the same stuff that you do, but is also the one who decided to invade Iraq? A bit of a conundrum for Christians I would think.

what are your beliefs based on and how has this been affected by your time as a witness?
I am open to both reincarnation and enlightenment, however I have not had any personal experience yet that establishes either one yet. The more I meditate and read, the more I reflect about those subjects. I think that the indoctrination of the JWs blocked a lot of exploration for me at first, but now I am free to let my feelings/sprit/imagination soar. I have not been on my exploration very long, so I am still in the process of sifting through some of my beliefs. Changing, adjusting, accepting, rejecting, establishing, thoughts and beliefs is part of the journey. Most times I am happy to just be on the journey and I am content to wait for the answers. Interesting subject with lots of possibilities though...

example....a cop pulls you over for a broken taillight or some other very minor infraction.
he says he is just going to give you a warning, then says something like...."hey, you don't have any rockets or explosives in your trunk do you?
" you of course say no, then he says "mind if i look?
I have nothing to hide, so wouldn't object to any kind of a search. My trunk has a bottle of Febreeze in it, and a quilt. What can they do with that?
Mulan..I admire you greatly, but it kills me when people say this. There are people all of the time who have done nothing wrong, but who are accused of doing something wrong and get charged with a crime. Stop and think why we have the rights we have. Did The Founding Fathers have something to hide when they established the freedoms that we have? Why did they think it was so important that we have those freedoms? They were all about stopping government from oppressing people. Searching your car for nothing more than curiosity is oppressive. What would our forefathers think of their ideals now? I suspect they are rolling over in their graves.

However, it is NEVER a good idea to give away rights.
I have to agree wholeheartedly Justice One. I also agree with the statements in your opening statement...I can't understand why anyone would let someone ransack their car just because a police officer asks, whether they have something to hide or not. Our freedoms are being eroded away every day (by both political parties) as it is...there is no reason to give away more. Good subject!

yesterday being mlk's birthday, we probably all heard snippets of his deservedly famous "i have a dream" speech, on the news, or at news websites.
i had never taken the time to read or listen to it all, so when i found the text along with a you tube of him speaking, i blogged it.
but i came across this one today, and it made me think; this is the mlk speech that an america stuck in iraq needs to hear the most.
Thanks for the great thread Six...very moving...if only our country could learn from the history that played out just a few years ago.

i've been posting here for quite a long time, so long in fact that it just doesn't feel right that my wife isn't a part of it.
earlier today i created an account for her with the username heron, she'll know why.
i'm not sure if my wife will ever post here but i would feel much more comfortable knowing she is aware that i do.. this is the one post i am going to ask her to read.. so, i'd really appreciate it if you could say hello to my lovely wife.
Welcome to JWD Heron!
