"jw's are an entirely different animal from manson's followers.

they bleed you slowly to death (literally and figuratively), but the biggest harm jw's perpetuate is the lives that are put on hold for "theocratic" activities.

a rich life is denied its members because of their doomsday scenarios' said alltimejeff, a former jehovah's witnesses missionary in west africa.. in view of the recent generation change and interpretation, please, what do you think about that?

If you are happy with what this world and existence offers within it's three score years and ten then jeff certainly has a point.

I always find it amusing when discussing this topic with relatives who are still JW's. JW's, including yourself, always reach for this scripture and have this frame of mind when discussing people who have left the "Organization". You assume that by leaving the "Orgnization" people automatically grasp for "sinful cravings." Is it so difficult to imagine a life away from the JW's to be one of excitement and fulfillment without "sinful cravings"?

Also, by having this frame of mind the JW's tend to seperate themselves off, as if they do not indulge in sinful cravings while being part of their "spiritual paradise", when they in fact grasp at sinful cravings at about the same rate as the rest of mankind. JW's are no different than anyone else and to pretend differently would be sticking your head in the sand. Please free yourself and enjoy a life of fulfillment. Stop wasting your life in a religion that sucks you dry. Freedom is exhilirating and I regret not having left the JW's sooner.

Finally finding my way out...

well, its been about 2 1/2 years and have slowly done less and less.

i've been to about 30 minutes of a meeting in the last month and a half where i stayed out back and with my daughter.. i've been looking for the right timing to leave but had decided i will go anyways by the time my daughter is about 1 years old.

but, it just so happens that my some members of my family including and mostly my parents have actually given me a good enough of an excuse to get out.. they have broken to many rules.

Beks, What does that make me? Someone that doesn´t join a website and talk bad about the organization I love. You guys show NO love. Using your example, you would badmouth your ex wife for years. That is not love. What a waste!

The reasons I am here for about 5 days now since I was BANNED the first day I was here but somehow got back in are: 1.Trying to find out why there is so much hate for the org here. 2. If you hate it so much, then leave. I do NOT take the excuse of hanging in there for family members. That is a copout from weak people. 3. If you hate it so much and have left for over 20 years now...WHY in the heck do ones keep talking about it? Makes NO sense to me. It´s like a bad movie. I hated the Austin Powers movies. But I don´t open up my own website and encourage others to join and talk bad about it. Especially I don´t name the website PROAUSTINPOWERSMOVIE like a lie like this is pretending to be a jehovah´s witness site when it really isn´t. 4. The name of the website. Why intentionally LIE about the name? Call yourselves apostatesRus or something. But not defame Jehovah´s name like this.

Who cares whether you like the name of the site, or that you think it is named improperly or not?

You are a neurotic mess and I recommend that you leave your mind controlling cult as soon as possible because you sound like a kook. Nobody is forcing you to come on this site, you come here of your own free will!

I am quite fascinated by what your reasons are for bringing these things up. Do you really expect the site to close down because you don't like the name? Do you think you will reach everyone and we will all come sashaying back to the Kingdom Hall because of what you say? What's wrong with you? Why I became Jehovah's Witness? If they will be proven wrong, I will leave them. But I will have good foundation for the future (studying, basic knowledge of Bible). Many posters will agree with me, I know. Ask Leolaia, Randy and others....

Of course, the first reason is the real love. I think it is more important than knowledge, false prophecies, generation doctrines..... isn't it? (John 13:34, 35)

Well...it's only more important if you disregard pesky little details like their dishonesty, innacuracy and false teachings.

God, Gays & Evangelicals

while participating on this website (one of the only three places i've discussed religion online) i asked a question:.

i've observed quite a few posts and comments here about religious intolerance toward gay men and women (i'm quoting), the terror and murder of homosexuals instigated by christians.

the religion i was raised in was in agreement with the bible based view that alternative lifestyles are immoral but they never instigated any hateful rhetoric toward gay men or women.

Yeah, I know Tammy, I could have been less blunt, lol. In my defense, though, I knew my neighbor before he found the Lord and when he started becoming a bit militant in his belief he told me that I was going to hell and I took that well, so I figured it was fair game. He took it pretty well and we are still friends. We have been neighbors for 7 years and we trust one another, so all in all it went pretty well all things considered.
