  his 1100 mile walk is over.

  he will be in dc for 3 days, visiting homeless shelters and drawing attention to the plight of homeless children in the united states.

  do you think a person can use hallucinogens to get enlightened?

  did humankind use them in the past with good results, for the benefit of their tribe, or community?

  did some preform healings under the influence of them, wasn't this ritualistic use a predate of any organized type of religion.. in fact the way i see it, for government to forbid its use is,, not only a gross infringement of one's civil liberties, but also shows its capitalistic, and feed the factories with productive tax paying workers mentality, which were no doubt the main reason for the government sponsored smear campaign done under the guise of public service announcements for the public's own good along with long prison sentences to reinforce the message.

  Can we blame our ancestors for our own shortcomings?

  in a recent thread about an nfl player being allowed to return to play after being convicted and serving time for a felony, it was suggested that maybe his ancestory played a part in his attitudes and actions.. those of you were playing along at home know the deal.... is it fair to lay blame on one's ancestors in how one acts in today's society?.

  i think not.... my ancestor's came here from scotland, when their lands were taken from them back home.

  they came here with nothing and had to start over in a land with next to nothing, eeking out an existance in the mountains of tn and nc, always struggling.

You went on a Vacation to 'Find Yourself", and the very first thing you post about after coming back is Michael Vick being accepted? On a thread that hurt MANY people and actually caused a division amongst some of us?

  A warning to those who are on Antidepressants including SSRi's, Tricyclics and Maoi's; Please be careful if you decide to use any hallucinogens, as they can have different effects if you are on medications. There is also an increased chance of getting "Serotonin Syndrome" which can be deadly if you mix meds, so please do research before you try it.

  I do believe that mushrooms and plants can sometimes help a person if they are healthy and in a good frame of mind, and am not telling anyone not to do them. I am just asking that people use common sense, as they are not right for everyone.
