this weekend has been awesome!!
ok the apostafest consisted of only 3 people, but it was a weekend to let out all the supressed emotions from 26 years of wt slavery.
we went to a heavy metal concert in a pit full of moshing and crowd surfing, screaming along to their lyrics (my throat is sore).
Good for you! I am glad y'all had a great time! Some of my fondest memories of the past several years have been going to Apostafests and meeting other people and making new friends. Most that I have met have been the nicest people I could ever meet, and knowing that we each have a commond bond makes it even better as we know what each other has been through in regards to the Watchtower.
I'm glad that you now have some life-long memories!

I am so sorry you are feeling depressed. You are and have always been there to encourage others, and whenever you hear of someone being ill, you are right there to do everything you can to make them feel better. I have always noticed that your empathy and compassion towards others are heartfelt and genuine, and I hope that with all of the posts and well wishes here that you feel that same love shown towards you at this time that you really need it. You are the type of person that this world needs more of, not less, so please take care of yourself and get professional help if you need it. It saddens me that some the nicest people such as yourself are often the ones who are prone to depression. I wish that there was something that could magically somehow take your pain away, but it takes time. Please know that there really is light at the end of the tunnel even though it may be hard to see right away. Don't be afraid to rely on your friends, that is what they/we are there for, even if it is just a kind word or thought, or sometimes a little nudge to help get you back on track.
So many of us see the beautiful soul that you are. You are very much admired! Please look inside yourself so you too can see what we see, someone who deserves the same love and caring that you have given others so freely and sincerely.

i thought i would never get my college degree from a university in this century at the age of 48 but i did it and graduated with an "a-" average.
i did this all the while working a full time job and going to school full time.
it can be done and now i love school to death.
Good for you and Congratulations!!! Without the shackles of the Watchtower Org holding a person back, someone such as yourself can accomplish anything they put their mind to, and above all having fun doing it!

i've always wanted to go on a hot air ballon ride but i'm soooooooooo scared to do it.. has anyone on here ever done it.

It would be a neat experience, but not for me. With my depression, I would be too tempted to jump. The same goes for tall buildings.Perhaps if there were a harness system rigged to the balloon that would be impossible for me to get out of, I may consider it though.
My Uncle in Ohio goes ballooning every year, and he has a great time. If you have a happy life and heights don't bother you, I would say to go for it, I imagine the experience of floating in open air would be one of the most incredible feelings that one could ever have.
From what I see on the internet, it appears that the average cost ranges from about $225-$300USD per person sharing the balloon. I'm not sure how long you stay in the air though.
If you decide to do it, I am sure lots of us would want to hear about your experience!

in view of recent posts and special announcements to be taking place in the organization i found the following to have credibility.
Hi Rick! I just wanted to commend you on changing the look of your Six Screens site. I haven't been there for a long time, but I decided to check it out again last night. It now looks more user friendly, both in ease of finding info, as well as the overall look of the site. To be honest, in the beginning it looked kind of scary, now it looks more inviting. I know you get a lot of flack and accusations thrown your way, and I will stay out of that because I am not here to judge you, but I thought I would just say something positive to help brighten your day! There are some nice posters here who offer you some good suggestions for your site, and I hope that you consider some of their views. I know there are others who just want to be bullies and be mean, please don't let those people get you down. I appreciate that there are some here though who have good hearts, motives and intentions who really want to help you make your site better, so you can have the chance of getting more people out of the WT Cult, and I hope that you may listen to what they have to say.

i have seldom given money to beggars.
i have often thought that many are people who just do not want to work.
however, i am starting to wonder if i ought to: and how much to give?.

Usually when I give to a homeless person, I will give money before they ask, or at times when they don't ask, but I can tell that they are down and out. If I see one or two homeless sleeping under an overpass or on a bench, I or my Partner Dave will pull over, I will get out and walk up and hand them some $$$ and tell them to go buy what they want with it. They usually are very surprised and very thankful. It is fun doing things for others when they are not expecting it.
One of the bad experiences I had was walking to Mc Donalds and ordering a few cheeseburgers to bring home. As I was walking home, a guy came up to me and asked for some money, but I instead reached in and handed him a cheeseburger. As soon as I handed it to him, he threw it on the ground and made some comment that was hard to understand and then he walked away. I was more cautious about giving food after that.
One other time when I was in Philadelphia on Xmas eve, I decided to hand out a little $$$ to some of the homeless, as there were a great many at the time and I felt bad that they had to sleep over heat ducts in the sidewalk. I went to a store and got change in $5 bills, and randomly went up to some of the people and gave them a $5 for X-mas. They were all so thankful, with one lady even crying, all except for one guy who decided that $5 was not enough to give him, and would not leave me alone and kept trying to follow me and ask me for more. I told him I had no more and he started yelling, getting irate and calling me a White boy Fa**ot as well as a few other choice names. I started to get scared, and fortunately I was able to make my way to a WaWa convienience store and go inside so he would stop following me. I told the clerk what happened and he told me how uncool I was for doing what I did and how thankful I should be that I didn't get robbed or worse. I was in my mid 20's at the time, and I didn't think that things could turn out badly like it did. I always make sure now that there is someone with me if I decide to go up to anyone I don't know again.
