Would you name your dog, Jehovah?
by african GB Member in...or are you still terrified by the mere mention of that name?.
perhaps still doubting whether he exists or not?.

Beefing up my disaster preparedness to protect family
by RayPublisher ini've been getting some new toys and also utilizing my old ones a little better- i now have a 1000 watt inverter that connects to a 12 volt car battery which in some ways is better than a generator because you don't need to worry about keeping fresh gasoline and trying to stockpile it.
i have a 3'x3' 30 watt solar panel that can charge one or two car batteries also so it will create a limited but never ending power supply to complete this little chain.. .
also i built a simple rack in my garage this weekend for my two guns, (12 gauge and a .22) so they are easily available but secure bc they have trigger locks and the key is now right on my regular keyring.

Good for you! I too have been stocking up and preparing as much as I can. I have tons of canned foods as well as dried foods such as beans, rice, pastas, etc. Try to get a variety of foods so you don't get bored of having to eat the same thing all of the time and make sure you have foods with plenty of proteins, carbs and calories. Water will be a big priority if something were to happen, and water purification is a must! There is an incredible water purification system on the market, it is called a Berkey water system. Berkey is the Cadillac of water treatment systems, and are a bit pricey, but are well worth it in regards to ease of use, looks, and durability. The filters get rid of almost anything imaginable, and you can even filter water from puddles and end up with crystal clear and clean water.
Good things to trade with others in a disaster scenario would be alcohol-(Rubbing and the drinking kind), toilet paper, herbs and spices-(Cooking and the smoking kind-lol), coffee, sugar, hygiene items, batteries, lighters, magnifying glasses, reading materials, etc.
Some precious metals tucked away and well hidden are a good idea.
A crank radio, crank flashlight or lantern, and a crank phone charger are a must. You can either get them separately, or you can get an all in one type.
In regards to tools, you can never have too many. If space is limited and you need something that is lightweight, a Leatherman tool is great to have. It is a bunch of tools all in one, much better than a Swiss army knife in some ways-(although the Swiss army knife would be a good companion tool) and can be used for almost any need imaginable.
There are plenty of survival sites on the net, and you can get some great ideas as well as things that you would need that you would never even think of that woud come in handy.
Good luck, and good job for stocking up and preparing!!!

Then there`s the Ass Kissers..
They have already identified themselves on this thread..
Fine, Mr. voice of perpetual reason. If trying to be positive equals Ass Kissing, so be it...
Barb said basically the same thing that I did on the first page. Is she included in your lovely statement, or are you just singling me out again?
Thank you once again for proving my point about following me around so you can make your little snide comments. It is neat to know that I have such an effect on you!
Enjoy your day!

I am Gay, and I do not agree with his views on Homosexuality, or some other things for that matter, but I don't go around condemning him over and over about it. I can make my voice known without continually berating. My point was that people keep bringing the same things up over and over and will not let things rest. It defeats anything good and its not good for any JW's who may be lurking. I am not the only one who feels that way, Barbara even said the same thing about hurtful comments and how they need to stop. I find it hard to believe that he has done nothing good, and that no one has benefited from his site.
Have a great day!!!

Victoria, Australia: WTBTS and GB of JWs have shown themselves to be "GUILTY" respecting previous noncompliance with “Working With Children” Laws
by AndersonsInfo inthe watch tower society, the christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses, the faithful and discreet slave, and the governing body of jehovah's witnesses, last week issued a "special" letter to all bodies of elders in the state of victoria instructing them to immediately apply for their working with children licenses and to comply with child protection laws.
the letter includes instructions that the contents are not to be made public or shared with members of the congregation.. .
this means an investigation authorized by the governing body of jehovah's witnesses and initiated by lawyers representing the watch tower bible and tract society of pennsylvania, inc. have concluded that the victorian working with children act 2005 and the associated child protection laws do indeed apply to all elders serving in congregations throughout the state of victoria both in the public ministry and in their internal ministry, which includes the theocratic ministry school.. .

Great news! I wish that the USA and other countries would follow suit with their own versions of "Working with children" laws. It would save a lot of children from abuse. Of course they had to add that the letter is not to be made public or read by others in the Congregations. It shows how deceitful and sneaky they are and how they don't want the word to get out that they broke the law. They have no shame.
I too thought that the fine amount of $144,000 was hilarious! How fitting!
Thank you very much for the update!

Thank you for your words, Barbara! I agree there has been a lot of harshness, and it is the time to stop. I wonder how many people have been chased away by all of the mean spiritedness going on? In regards to Rick Fearon, at least he is doing something by trying to expose the Org. It would be interesting to find out what Rick's biggest critics have done themselves to try to get the word out about JW's? If they don't like how he is doing things, why aren't they stepping in and making changes by hosting their own websites or doing other creative things to bring attention to the misdeeds of the Org? No one is perfect, and there are things that we don't always like about another person, but to continuously, and I mean CONTINUOUSLY berate someone in every thread shows nothing but immaturity. It is one thing to make your voice and opinion known, but to constantly do it? We are better than that!
But he lied! He exaggerated! OMG!!! Every human on Earth has done the same. If he was wrong and made a mistake, why keep bringing up the past? Is there no forgiveness with some people? The way I have heard some people talk, you would think that Rick is Satan incarnate. What is that saying about "Straw, Rafter, etc" and "He who is without sin throw the first stone"....
Again, to those who are doing the condemning of Rick, what are you doing to change things???
Thank you again Barbara for all of your kind words to people, and for your strength as you defend others from the tentacles of the Watchtower. Thank you too Rick for doing your part in trying to help others. If more of us devoted ourselves to such a worthy cause that people such as yourselves have, many lives would be saved from misery, shunning, and even death.

The info is getting spread far and wide. This thread alone has had over 11.000 hits, and untold thousands have read the newspaper articles. Again I commend Cedars for his work and all others who have had a share in making the truth known about the Watchtower!

Prodigal Son, I agree with you about 9/11. There is way too much damning evidence showing that 9/11 didn't happen in the way that our Gov't says. For anyone doubting, there is plenty of compelling evidence and all it takes is a Google search to find plenty of info about what really happened on that day. It gets me that so many people are willing to take our Governments word on what happened, when these same people know how our Government has a track record of lying and dishonesty. The cognitive dissonance that is rampant among people amazes me. If more people would open their minds to different ideas, the Governments would soon realize that they would no longer be able to manipulate and lie to the people without expecting a backlash for their misdeeds.

This is a really good article in the fact that it doesn't sugar coat things that the JW's say and believe, and tells it like it really is in a straight forward, no holds barred way.
