i'm startin' off this jwd soul train thread with something that's not very "soul-ish", but very appropo.....50 ways to leave your lover....with a few of the words changed to fit in with our "pause to see".....can anyone help this thread with a "lift-off" by changing some of the words in aretha's "think" and "r.e.s.p.e.c.t."???.

WATCHTOWER - AND THE CREDIT - DEBIT CARDS !!!!!!!!

hi guys.. in britain this year for the district assembly, the w/t are making collection by credit and debit cards.. now, the question is are they doing this elsewhere??

usa, canada, france, australia, ect, ect.. please feel free to enter the country of this imoral practise.. are they encouraging the jw to get in debt?????

what a hipocracy... is this what jesus christ condemned??.

There have been past threads on this, and it seems that it is becoming commonplace. And why shouldn't the J-Dubs get more in Debt, by using that mode of making contributions??? They should be able to give all they got to the ORG, after all, Armaggedon is going to be here soon, very soon, and they will not have to pay their debts!!!

Edited to add:

At first I wrote this thinking it may be humorous, but then thought about it, and realized, didn't a lot of those in the org. go into debt right before 1975, by maxing out their credit, and didn't care because they thought the end was so close? Then after 1975 came and went, they frantically tried to figure out how they were then going to survive, and a lot of people got depressed, financially ruined, and eventually left? Looks like the Org. is back to it's old tricks......Dubs will once again give more money to the org. thinking that they may not have to worry about it in the long run. Shame on the Borg....

You may wanna check this out. You can get some good idea what some of the lit. is worth . Some will even shock the poo outta you! From what I have seen on Ebay, items seem to go for anywhere from half to two-thirds of the rates that are listed at the site, although sometimes, I have seen things go for more!. Even some of the unusual stuff from the 50's and 60's can go for hundreds!!!

That's why I want to get my stuff back. Sell it, buy a new truck! Finally get money from the WT for a change!!!

If the tornado sirens don't go off this year as they did last year on the 4th, I will check out the fireworks, and then set off my last remaining couple dozen bottle rockets. And yes, I will have my huge American Flag Hanging, and a Wavin' in the breeze.....

LMAO! That was so funny-except for the fact I have that D*mn song playing in my head over and over-Oh the agony.....

I find though that the best plastic covers for the magazines come in 13 gallon tall trash size. You can cover bundles of mags. at a time, before placing them in approved waste containers!

Make sure to kep your really early literature. It is becoming very hard to find. Whena was a teen, I amassed a huge collection of WT literature and memorabilia. An original phonograph with 6 of the rutherford 78's. The photo drama book, several photo drama slides, and the original projector, A gold pin with cross and crown that was sold back in the early Russellite days, Daily Heavenly Manna and Birthday record, the edition where he signed under his birthday "Praise Ye the Lord," The set of 6 Studies in the Scriptures unused still in the original wax paper, Millenial Dawn series-pre studies, yearbooks from the 20's to the 80's, Comfort for the Jews, Harp of God, A big stack of watchtowers, the earliest being 1908, consolations, Golden ages, Convention Reports from the teens, original Photographs of Rutherford, almost all of the Rutherford rainbow series-Enemies, Jehovah, Vindication, etc., Many Rutherford era 64 page booklets, a book about JW's called faith on the March, to name only a few things. I used to spend my allowances, and would gather pop bottles so I could go to the bookstores and find these things. It took several years to amass. My mother will not let me have them back unless I go back to the org. She used to make me keep them in the Garage, as she felt that they could somehow still be Demonized due to the fact that they were used, and did not know who they previously belonged to, even though it was the society's literature. They have been sitting in boxes for years now, and she will not give them to me, unless I succomb to her Blackmail. I have thought of going back for a little while, studying for a short bit, and pretend to be interested in going back, get my things, and then stop going. I would feel bad doing this, as it would get her hopes up, and set her up for disappointment, but I want my stuff!!! Any ideas how I can get them back???
