  What was your breaking point?

  okay, i'm new as you all probably know, so my question may have been discussed several times in the past.

  i'm just curious as to when some of you came to the conclusion that enough was enough and that you didn't want to attend the meetings anymore or not be a jw.

  was it in field service, at home, at the hall?

  EvilForce: WOW, ... I can relate to: ... "the thousand paper cuts"

  Man I have never ever in my life had to stamp out small fires, and gossip things these people like to do.

  One of many things that got to me, ... was the last time I went to the hall for the, .. C O, ... visit, about four years ago.

  He said: ... "Its easy to serve Jehovah. All you have to do is go to all the meetings, and listen to the governing body. And, if you do this until the end of this system, You will live forever."

  So, on the way home, I through a fit with my wife, and asked, Do you believe that? Do you really believe, what he said is right?

  And as usual, I got the silent treatment, and no answer.

  Oh ya, ... a thousand paper cuts? I can relate. Thanks for the visual.

  my first postapostate jdub spotting...

  so me, matt and alllll of our friends were at the blue monkey (a bar in memphis), and we were just sitting around, munching on pizza and throwing back beers.

  all in all, it was great.

  i basically just wanted to get the point through that i was perfectly happy and that i didn't need the dubs to have fun and have friends.

  Faders: What if we transfer our records to an out of state congo

  about 100 - 200 miles from were we live, lets say we have the records transfered to a different congo.. no one there would know us, and if we never move there, ... now what.. how would they ask, "if you want to be jw's anymore?

  the local needs talk on thursday discussed a few different things, according to my mom.

  but the one that stood out most was that he announced that based on the new book, the elders will be checking on those that have not been associating with the congregation for some time.

  they will ask, "do you still want to be a jehovah's witness?

  ah, the good old days !!!

  now that i'm old and gray, i can't believe the change in prices for this good stuff!

  whole cheese pizza ............ 75 cents !!.

  McDonalds burger was .15 cents

  and the cheapest I bought gas was .16 cents a gallon. It was a gas war, normal price was .23 cents

  kinda funny re. District Assembly

  over the past few years i would buy my old dub friend and his wife a coffee in the mornings and we would car pool to the district conventions.

  he just wrote me an email and asked if i would be getting the coffee's again for them this year, all tounge in cheek.

  i replied "no problem, just come find me on the assembly grounds.

  what would the elders say if they came to your house for a jc meeting and you had a lawyer sitting in your house as a witness to the event?.

  would they continue and have the meeting, or would they leave?.
