Has anyone ever been "outed" due to posting on JWD?

being the paranoid, inactive, with alot of family and "friends" still in the org.

i'm sure it's been discussed before but i don't recall reading on that topic here on jwd.

i know that fear prevented me from posting while i was exiting as an elder.

I know of a young man who was outed because of his myspace page, nothing "apostate" just other religious says was posted on his site. The elders swooped down on him and right now his fate has not yet been decided, but it doesn't look good.

Also, remember that not everyone who PM's you is at the same place in recovery as you are. If you have a lot to lose and you are not ready to take that final step, be careful of what you say in PM's especially if it is a new poster and you have no history on his/her beliefs.

Threats My Mother Made...

my mother was a short (5'2") red-headed, blue-eyed irish woman.

i was just sitting here thinking about some of the bizarre threats she used to make, either to us kids or to someone else that had her dander up.

we always knew they were threats and would rofl or lmao most of the time when she made one.

Confession, sorry I botched your saying in my reply, I read you post answered my phone and I my memory failed me.

It just goes to show, that as children, we start out with out malace or hateful thoughts about different people or their characteristics. Its only after we are poisioned by either our family, associates or the media, that we begin to associate hate with racial terms.

Most children view differences as interesting until some dumb adult tells them that they should hate, or shun , or ridulcle a difference.

we always knew they were threats and would rofl or lmao most of the time when she made one.

Confession, as a black man I almost hate to admit that I almost laughed out loud at you mom's comment "put your wooly head on mama's breast".

My mom used to say " I'll Smack the taste out of your mouth."

My dad used to say "he'll beat me like I owed him money".

After he would say that we would both breakdown in laughter.

Maybe I don't want to live in Paradise

when i was a teenager, and really trying hard to be a "super witness" i remember thinking that if all the wicked people were destroyed, how would this change our everyday life.. what happends to the people that supply electricity, water, garbage collection, gas, fuel for cars, mechanics, farmers, cattle herders, etc.... how would we survive?

if armafoggeten happened in the winter would those in colder climates die?.

i you were on some sort of medical equipment that required electricity, would you die if there is no one a run to work in the electrical plant?.

I just had an interesting flashback to my youth as a dub. I would never mention what really scared me because I was afraid that Satan would use it against me during persecution. An elder told me that after a sister mentioned to us that she had a fear of dark places.

I didn't think I had any phobias until last year I needed to have an MRI and I freaked out so bad in the machine that I nearly broke it.

It took me 10 minutes to compose myself.

I was always claustraphobic, it something that I just developed.

I am determined to overcome it somehow.

List of family/friends lost to the Watchtower cult? (suicides)

after reading about puternuts (ari) suicide, and also reading about sabine and js losing their daughter to this cult, i think it would be a fitting memorial, so to speak, to write a list of all the people we know who died because of this cult.

i also know that cruzanheart lost her dad to it, too.

i'm sure there are many here that can make a list of suicides brought on by the shunning/threatening policies of the watchtower cult.

Young baptized woman married to a baptized brother in a mental and physically abuse marriage.

Had a 4 month old baby and just found out that she was pregant again.

2 weeks earlier she had asked her dad to come back home, but her dad a( a prominent Elder in the area) said no, she must stick it out with her husband because Jehovah hates a divorce.

She threw herself off the roof of her apartment building.

She did not have a witless funeral.

For those who were raised in "the truth"

how many of you always felt like you would be killed at armageddon no matter what you did... it was never enough and your parents put a guilt trip on you?

I guess I was one of those haughty, ignorant, no it all who never doubted I would make it to paradise.

My biggest fear is that I would break under persucution, so I would work out and run long distances so that I could built up my stength to withstand pain.

Now that I think about it, it pretty sad that a pre teen would be pre occupied with beening tortured to death.

"Funerals" The new Witless Gatherings

over the last 12 months i have been invited to 3 funerals for dubs that was held more that a week after the person died so that more people could attend.. each of the funerals were held on a saturday and there was a community center or hall rented out where food and drinks were served.

all 3 had over 300 people attending and each lasted several hours.. i think the dubs are so straved for get togethers, that they use a funeral as a means to get together.. .

has anyone else noticed this trend in your area?.
