any ideas for good stocking stuffers?.
i have peppermints, chocolates, lottery holiday scratch-its, and a john wayne dvd (the searchers) for my husband.
any other ideas?.
Ohhh yeah! The most important thing...we all need ...is batteries.
most of the jws i met were sincere people.
not perfect, i have my horror stories too, but most were decent people.
i am not discounting the horrible things i hear on this forum.
When i was a little girl there was one time that we had no food in the house and no money. The JW 's came over and wanted to know why we had'nt been going out in service.Instead of bringing food they put my mom on a guilt trip about not getting her required time in. A neighbor (a "worldly" man) brought over bags of groceries.I have no idea how he knew we were hungry....he did'nt even know us.I honestly cannot think of one nice thing a jw did for us but there where many times "worldy" people have helped us.

Movie certificates, snow scrapers, gas cards, gel pens, and stamps.
be honest if you know it.
and yes, we are all aware of how insignificant this number can ultimately be.
but i'm still curious so please share.
I just took a test (for the first time) Mine is 120.

convicted rapist seeks parole.
I'm with you Avishai....My niece was raped by her JW stepfather and the Elders and congergation went to court on behalf of the rapist...he was set free. No telling how many more he has raped since then.
I happen to live close to Atascadero State Hospital mentioned in the article...I personally know people that work there. They say it is impossible to rehabilitate these sex offender. The few that were released offended again and usually more brutal attacks.
I will forward this article to Kim .. the lawyer on this forum.
E-mail me and let me know what i can do..protest or whatever.

Like Simon says...we all have certain subjects we are smart in. Ozzie for instance is smart when it comes to wines.
I have a friend that can take a computer apart and put it back together with one arm tied behind his back and blindfolded.Yet just the other night I had to teach him how to make a grilled cheese sandwich. Hmmmm...wonder if Farkel can make one??
when the borg sent their henchmen to tell us that they'd taken our children from us, they weren't kidding.
so life now is a mix of ups and downs.
this week has been all of those, often within the same hour!
