Elder A was "happily" married with 2 children. Sister B was "happily" married with 4 children. Sister B started having problems and Elder A was on the committee to help them. He also helped himself to her a few times. I remember one night during a meeting, virtually every elder ran out of the meeting. It seems Sister B's husband came home with Sister B and Elder A were helping each other. Only Sister B's husband was a former black belt. Elder A wasn't hurt, but I can just imagine his face when he walked in on them.
Anyway, they had worked out a plan. Get DF'd, get divorced, get married to each other, then come back as fine outstanding JW's. Well the years went by and they both reinstated and "happily" married.

Juicy JW Stories too big to hush up!
by target inwhen their actions spill outside of the congregation and get in the newspapers, there is no hushing it up.
the stories i am about to tell are factual, but the names have been changed to protect the guilty.. many years ago in a small neighboring town, there was a small mexican restaurant that was owned by a non jw who employed jw relatives and nonrelatives.
it was a popular place.

As a funny follow-up to my previous post, GTA:SA has a CO-OP mode. I haven't played it, but it seem you can play as the main character and the other player as his girlfriend. Just think of the bonding experience seeing your virtual lives of beating people virtually and beating people up in reality coming together!

If you want a lesson in futility you can try giving him a relationship talk while he's playing.
On the other hand, my GF and I play Madden 2005 together. Its pretty fun and she's getting good. I guess the lesson is: if you can't get 'em, join 'em. -

JW and Guns
by eljefe ini had a debate on another forum with a jehovah's witness on a gun forum.
anyway he is a jw that owns several handgun as well as an ar-15 (the civilian version of the military's m-16).
i posted several watchtower articles that show how jw's shouldn't own guns.

As Casey Stengel used to say ``you can look it up," but my recollection is that JWs make a distinction between the ownership of rifles and of handguns, the latter being a no-no and a possible disfellowshipping offense.
That was my understanding too. One of the Watchtowers many unwritten laws. -

Looks like we have enough shooters to have an Apostashoot. I will be keeping my feet away from Simon though.

I found this Watchtower article:
20 For example, when the July 15, 1983, Watchtower magazine pointed out that guns were not for Christians, Jehovah?s Witnesses in New Caledonia got rid of their firearms. Shortly thereafter, a local political group searched through a town, burning down every house where they found firearms. But no Witness houses were destroyed. Known neutrality is often the best defense, as has proved true in Northern Ireland, Lebanon, Zimbabwe, and other lands.
Watchtower 85 7/1 pg 23
I knew some "brothers" who had hunting rifles and shotguns. But no one who owned a hand gun. Its good to be out and shooting my guns.
My guns:
Browning High Power 9mm
Glock 22 .40
Springfield Armory 1911 .45
Mossberg Series 88 12 gauge
Coming Soon AK-47 -

I am curious if anyone else had guns while a JW, and if so which?

How Many People Are Less Stressed Since Leaving The Witnesses?
by minimus indo you feel better----emotionally and mentally since stopping meetings and living under the rules of the witnesses?
i've heard reports of better physical and mental health since persons have left the organization.

My mental health has vastly improved. I no longer think that I am not doing enough for Jehovah. Now I spend my nights and weekends relaxing instead of service/meetings.

As JW's, we were taught that God would answer any prayer in line with his will. I would assume that it is God's will to let people know that he exists. I prayed for a year for God to give me some kind of sign that he exists. A year later nothing had happened. Or maybe God didn't care enough about me to answer my prayer. I am guessing he just doesn't exist.

Someone else but thought provoking nonetheless. Is God a she?
Anyway, I think God is a way that we try to explain ourselves. What, why and how we are. To most it gives a logical religious explaination, but I think it creates more questions than it answers.
