What steps did you take to stop your association with the congregation?

when i finally knew that the wts didn't have the truth,i decided to take steps to slow down and become an inactive member.

( i still have my whole family in.......so..... i prefer to remain inactive).

i took these small steps :.

For me who used to hang around till everyone was gone as an MS (drove my wife bonkers). Started to bolt out the door short of slamming it after every meeting. This went on for about a year, then I stepped down, and little by little stopped going altogether. In retrospect no one give a rats ass about anyone but them selves. A cold day in hell it will be for me to ever fathom the thought of walking into one of those dreadful "Kingdom Halls.

PS: WTWizard: "Boasting Sessions" defines them superbly. Those arrogant f....ks!

Cracks in the Veneer

last night i was talking to a dear cousin of mine (if i had to classify her i would say she a liberal jw who firmly believes) and she said "they told me that i wouldn't graduate high school and now i'm almost 50".

after she said that i waited for her to follow that line of thought to some conclusion of perhaps "maybe they're wrong" but it didn't happen.

i don't have any desire to start working on her to leave the borg (though i would love it if she and other members of the family would wake up) but i do find it interresting to listen to and watch the cracks in the veneer.. josie.

it hurts when i write her (e-mail, letters, sms) but she doesn't reply.

She's probably way to busy working for zero $, down in the bowels of some factory or residence building. Under the guise she's really making God happy by cleaning toilets or ironing clothes or unfolding cardboard boxes or cleaning grout on a bathroom floor with a toothbrush. She may not have the time to respond to your "worldly" emails or letters.
