This is really not about Whitney or the letter but I just had to say, tonight is Halloween and it's been raining ALL WEEK but since 4:30 pm the rain stopped and it's been just a wonderful fall evening free of rain for the Halloween trick or treaters.

I read that letter last night and also read through the comments and it seems that the vast majority of non-JW commenters just do not hear what she actually was saying. A few ex-JW's have made some negative comments throughout the various news stories (out of sheer frustration) and the JW responses are often mind numbingly stupid name calling sophmoric rants and yet the people continue to defend them!
This has been a frustrating lesson in human psychology and frankly; quite depressing. I do think that as the weeks and months pass the reality of the loss of Whitney will hit her mom HARD. Also, I think that as the society continues to churn out their Pharisaichal rules and interpretations, one of them is going to hit home and if it puts Whitney in any kind of a bad light then she may start to open her eyes. Or it could be in the form of gossip and we all know how they do like to gossip! But, over the years it has also been my observation that even then die hard witnesses stay blind and take the 'blame' for being 'weak'.

I've been out for 13 years now but I still carry around big bookbag like purses. Mine are now filled with music! Classical, fiddling, CHRISTMAS and boy do I love the fact that I can use THOSE to teach with! Students love it too .
I did find it intersting to read the list of things you pack into your official JW briefcase. Lot's of new stuff I've never heard of but I'm sure if I looked inside of any of them it would be the same old recycled garbage. I disposed of all my literature pretty soon after leaving but wish maybe I'd have kept some of those older books. Although anything can be accessed via Internet, it's good to have a hard copy for irrefutable evidence to the wacky broken light switch teachings of the WT.

Why did Whitney leave for work 15 minutes early for a 4 minute drive?
Although I personally push arrival at work to the last minute, the other half of humanity arives with some room to spare. Fifteen minutes is totally within reason.
Why did Whitney agree to give Holt a ride when being seen alone around town with a married man would be cause for scrutiny and a possible investigation by the local body of elders of Jehovah's Witnesses?
Probably didn't think the 5 minutes at 6:45 in the morning would be any big deal.
Why was Holt referred to by media as an acquaintance at the outset when all Jehovah's Witnesses communicating with them knew he was an "active publisher"(despite being labeled as "irregular attender" by WBTS legalize) in the congregation and in fact spent secular and free time with the Hiechels, even exchanging house keys with the Holts so that house chores could be performed if either couple were away on vacation?
I don't know all the details of their secular/free time but I do know that doing things like watching over pets while an aquaintance is on vacation if it is convenient is possible without knowing the people a whole lot..........I've done that many times before.
Despite this relationship between the Hiechels and Holts, why is there an inordinate amount of Hiechel photos of Whitney and Clint together on Whitney's Facebook?
They were married and happy.
Where are the pictures of their close friends, neighbors and fellow worshipers of Jehovah at the Kingdom Hall the Holts? There are plenty of other congregation members represented in the photos.
Facebook is not a true reflection of a person's life.
Why did Jonathan Holt's wife Amanda delete her Facebook page within hours of Whitney's disappearance. Why is Amanda Holt in seclusion and unwilling to shed light upon this haneous crime?

Where did Jonathan Holt acquire his handgun? Why would Jonathan pack his weapon the morning he asked for a ride and then went to the park with Whitney. Did he premeditate the murder? Why?
Anyone without a record can pretty much aquire a handgun. That he packed it suggest that he premeditated killing Whitney.
Why would Jonathan Holt shoot Whitney 4 times? Why use a gun if he wanted to kill her? Why was he so angry with Whitney? Why would he sodomize her instead of sexual intercourse? What is it that Holt took from Heichel(robbed) before he shot her to death?
You ask questions that only Jonathan Holt could answer and there you would be getting info from a sick man. It is curious as to why he had a gun.
Why would Jonathan toss his cell phone in an easy to find location?
He just killed Whitney in a rage........not thinking too clearly.
Why would Jonathan give an affidavit of confession? And what are the chances that confession is completely accurate as to the actual events?
The JW mindset is deep in him..........confession is pretty engrained. He probably has all the JW fears with him and so........the big sky daddy is watching him.
Why were Jehovah's Witnesses always the ones to find critical clues in this investigation? The car. The park. The license plate. The mountain.
One of their members was a trained search and rescue person. Yes, that was in the news report but it is an acceptable piece of information to me.
If Holt is the heartless cold blooded murderer sociopathic psycho irregular meeting attender the JWs would like everyone to believe, why was he sobbing like a baby at his arraignment?
Because he did something heinous and he has the sense to know it. He was a pretty bumbling killer as to the trail he left.

It's not speculation. The Summary of Probable cause and Hot's own confession admit to what he did.
According to a probable cause affidavit written by the officer who arrested Holt, Holt waited outside Heichel’s apartment on the morning of October 16 and asked her for a ride.

Heichel, who knew Holt, obliged. About five minutes into the ride, police said Holt pulled out a handgun and forced Heichel to drive to Roslyn Lake in Clackamas County.
According to the affidavit from Officer Mary Nunn, Holt forced Heichel to perform oral sex on him, then shot and killed Heichel.
Nunn wrote that Holt dumped his phone at Roslyn Lake then drove Heichel’s body to Larch Mountain, where she was eventually found three days later on Friday evening.
