witnesses say that when people leave "the truth", they get involved in a debauched life, misery, and general unhappiness.. they give experiences of some that left the "sweet fellowship" of the "brotherhood" and the awful results because of it.
then, they come back and their lives change 100% for the better!.
have you found life to be miserable and unproductive since "leaving jehovah"?.
It is bittersweet. Like so many others, we have lost most of our family members, and that hurts. We will always have our ups and downs, that's life. Overall, we are happier. I think that if we exjw's were unhappy because of leaving, we would simply return to the borg. The fact that most of us do not is a good sign that we as a group are happier out.
The witnesses actually want us to be unhappy. That is the whole point of shunning. By shunning us, we feel the pain of the loss. If we want to stop the pain, it's easy, just return to the borg. The borg tricks the family into thinking that by shunning the person who left, they are showing love to them. Our family really loves us!!!

Growing up in the org., it was a great privilege, a right of passage. I always enjoyed it, even looked forward to it. The meetings actually became interesting. However, I did not get to do it near enough. My hall required minimum monthly service totals, and good conduct. One of those was usually missing.

i see it every time i go to the book store but thought it had something to do with religion so i didn't want it.

in our efforts to simplify arrangements and reduce costs, the society is pleased to announce a new arrangement that will take effect at the annual district conventions starting with the keep on the watch even longer convention in the summer of 2010. the society needs to carefully allocate its resources so that the worldwide work can continue to grow and that the society can defend itself from legal challenges instigated by our opposers.. effective this summer, the number of paper towels allowed per visit in the restrooms at convention sites will be reduced from one to zero.
we do not think our dear brothers and sisters will notice the difference.

While writing a porn would be fun, and somewhat factual, and I welcome your ideas, I'm sure that is not the direction I want to take this.
Since finding time for my own project can be difficult, I guess this idea won't float. No problem, I can work on it over time.

Thanks for the input, that is why I want to open this up for more facts/opinions. I am having trouble remembering the details, and more importantly, how we used to think that it all would go down. The whole great tribulation thing is important. I also want to have the "peace and security" thing go down. Does the "sudden destruction" start the great tribulation, or does it start Armageddon? Your welcome to just add in your ideas! I just want this to evolve over time, into a cool movie.

I want it to be true to life, exactly what we expected when we were "in". It has been a while since I have been "in", so the more factual ideas the better. The story could be set in current times, or even back in 1987 (or so). If we set the film in the late 80's, then we do not have to worry about the current changes to the doctrine.
This could be a book first, I guess, but I'd rather it be a movie. I think that there would be interest, both JW and non. I doubt that any witness would go see it, but if they did, it would force them to see what they believe, and how crazy it is. For the worldly folks, they get to see what the JW's believe, and how crazy it is.
I think if we use the tools that google provides for team work, we could have fun with it. Read what I've started, and edit it too...
