does anyone have tivo?
i am considering getting it but i am unsure about how it works.
i understand how the remote works, that you get a box, etc.
Call it Tivo, PVR, DVR, whatever, it is simply wonderful. I cannot watch live television anymore. I record everything then watch it without commercials. What if a live show is coming on that I really want to see? Simple. When its about to come on, pause it. Then get your popcorn, do some dishes, play with the kids, whatever, then after about twenty mins. or so, (for an hour program), come back to the tv, and watch it, skipping the commercials, and by the end, it will be just about live again. OR, just record the new program and watch something that you already have recorded. Most of the time, I am off the TV schedule by at least a day, if not a week or two. People will ask if I had seen something yet, and I'll say, not yet, but I have it waiting.
I am lucky enough to have dish networks 721 reciever. This sucker has two tuners on it. This means I can record TWO channels at the same time, while watching something prerecorded! Awsome! Expensive, yes ($599.00, US). But with three kids, all we do is watch tv, so its worth it for us.
The biggest benifit to having my dish network reciever is there is no extra monthly charges. I get the two week guide too. Tivo's biggest advantage is the season pass, and the reccomended recordings. It will follow a show thru time changes, and if you like a certain type of programming, it will auto record other programs just like it. That may be well worth the monthly investment.
ENJOY !

these sickos killed their mom who lived in noblesville, two towns from me and i had initially lived in noblesville for more than 10 years.. .
it makes me sick what they did to them.. .
Hello from the Kokomo area. Seen that crap on the news tonight, again. Seems like there was about 200,000 dollars involved, in cash? C'mon grandpa, get a bank account.
The fellow who did the killing was a mental case I guess (duh). You see how proud that cop was who pulled them over in Mis.? I would be too, I guess.
It seemed to be the perfect crime. They had them burried in cement in the basement. They may never have been found. Sick, and far too local.

Hey, I've only got 6 invites. How did all of you get so many?
I only had five. Then I used two. Then they gave me fifty. I did not ask for them...I dont know why they did that. I imagine they are going to be going public soon, and so they are just letting everyone in quickly, via invites...

What is it????
KLS, Gmail is an internet mail program, much like Yahoo and hotmail. The big difference is the amount of space you get for storage. On Yahoo! you get 250 mb, and on Google, you get a full GIGABYTE, or 1000 mb. Add to that the search function of google to search through your emails, and its a nice combo. Right now, you have to be invited in, its not public yet. ~cab
recently my mother dropped in on us and in front of other people, very nicely handed me some trinkets aka dust collectors for my house and some wts magazines.
the way she handed everything to me at once i just held out my hands and took it all.. i threw the magazines away immediately, i consider them trash and don't even want them around... but then decided exactly what i was going to do.
i am going to buy a yard sale cross or virgin mary statue and give it to my mom.. i specifically told her i don't want any publications and she slipped them in anyways.... so, on that note, she hates any religious icons, i am going to give her something that she doesn't want.
Oh Fooey!
Stick in the muds! She has a good idea here! If mom quits loving her because she gives her a religious item, then there is no love there anywayz. I think it a fantastick idea! It really sends a message, and its funny to boot! Be sure to make it a real gaudy thing. Make it Overly religious, include a deeply religious card with it..preferablly used! Have fun with it. I see no disrespect, just a good time!
