i put this in humour, but it makes me want to vomit hard
by in a new york bethel minute ini receieved this "poem" from some witness chick who sent it as a forward to myself and a whole bunch of other dubs.
my sister received it from someone else and i have other friends who received it from other sources.
im sure every young witness who has email has received it by now, and it's the most sickening, disheartening thing i have seen in a long time.

One of the elders in my congregation read this "poem" to the congregation and recieved the reaction expected from any good Witness. I am so disgusted that they would use such a repulsive tactic to scare their followers into obedience.

I'm a Jehovah's Bystander. We's like the Witnesses, only we don't wanna get involved.
- Flip WilsonWhat do you get when you cross a devil worshipper with a Jehovah's Witness?
Someone who goes from door to door telling people to go to hell. What do you get when you cross a Mafia soldier with a Jehovah's Witness?
Lots of converts.I could never be a Jehovah's Witness... I didn't see the accident. As far as I know, Jehovah didn't hit anybody.
- Greg TaylorMy Avon lady just became a Jehovah's Witness. That may not mean much to you, but it saves me one more trip to the door.
- George CarlinWhat do you get when you cross a Jehovah's Witness with an Agnostic?
Someone who goes door to door for no apparent reason.Ask a Jehovah's Witness: If Jesus were in the hospital and needed an operation, could he get a blood transfusion from God?
I learned something the other day. I learned the Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate Halloween. I guess they don't like strangers going up to their door and annoying them.

Fudging on "Field Service Report"
by Clinton inwhen i was a jdub i used to write down whatever hours i wanted to write down.
when i was pioneering for 7 years i would add a few hours to my time each month so that i wouldn?t fall too far behind.
even when i wasn?t pioneering though i would inflate my hours a bit sometimes so i wouldn?t have the elders hounding me about my time and also so i could hold a ?position?.

Did you ever experience "Joy"?
by Pork Chop inone thing that always struck me was the rather dour nature of the organization.
i know people laugh, and at seem to have a good time, at least occasionally.
however, one thing i just haven't seen is a real outpouring of joy, like david dancing like a crazy man or some of the other occassions in the scriptures when it seems like people were almost overcome with joy.. anyone here ever feel real joy as a witness?

Honestly, I've never been happy as a JW. From birth, all I ever knew was the misery that came with being a JW. Especially when the org. constantly reminds me that I should be experiencing joy.

Russell's The Finished Mystery
by GenericMan inthe following has been copied from my personal copy of the finished mystery:.
even the republics will disappear in the fall of 1920.
in one short year, 1917-1918, the vast and complicated system of sectarianism reaches its zenith of power, only to be suddenly dashed into oblivion.

The following has been copied from my personal copy of The Finished Mystery:
Even the republics will disappear in the fall of 1920. (258)
In one short year, 1917-1918, the vast and complicated system of sectarianism reaches its zenith of power, only to be suddenly dashed into oblivion. (285)
Ezek. 5:2, 12, 16, 17, relate to features of the destruction of literal Jerusalem in 606 B.C. and 70-73 A.D. and Christendom in 1914 to 1918 A.D. (398)
The year 1918, with its fearful revolutions, and succeeding anarchy, is at the door. (405)
Also, in the year 1918, when God destroys the churches wholesale and the church members by the millions, it shall be that any that escape shall come to the works of Pastor Russell to learn the meaning of the downfall of ?Christianity.? (485)
This system and its adherents will manifest their essentially non-Christian nature when Christendom (Jerusalem) falls at the hands of revolutionists in 1918. (489)
In the year 1918, when Christendom shall go down as a system to oblivion, (Sheol) to be succeeded by revolutionary republics, God will cause mourning. (513)
I don't see how anyone could rationalize this.
