NHL Lockout... Whatever Shall We Dooooo?!?!

so, it sounds like the nhl and the players association is deadlocked and there's no contract.

the owners want to put a cap on the players' salaries and the players say no deal to that.

if there's no hockey this season, have you thought about how you're going to occupy hockey nights??.

actually, in my household i'm the one who wants a bigger tv...we have a 36 in the living room, a 36 in the bedroom and a 19 in the office...but i want bigger, better, more...!! haha

The Individual VS The Community

my dog is a very solitary animal.

to be honest, she's rather disintristed in humans and keeps to herself.

she doesn't like to play and is extremely disobedient.

Individualism versus communitarianism! Both concepts have their strengths and weaknesses. The individual is nothing without society and an intimate soulmate(s). And yet, the danger is mindless conformity and groupthink. Where is the "golden mean" between the two extremes?
i think the 'happy medium' is knowing oneself and loving oneself...if you are happy with yourself, then you won't lose yourself in a group....we all need alone time, we all need group time...as a very social person, who happens to be an ex-jw, i think that the upside of being raised in such a strict, conformist lifestyle is that i am more aware of the "groupthink" that is possible in any situation and try not to lose my own sense of self in those situations....
