  my kids and i were sitting down at dinner time when my son (with a big grin on his face) said that.

  ok, ok, he got me and my 10 year old daughter (mom's little spy) to promise not to tell on him.

  reminds me of my older bro and his cohorts during the meetings.. sister bigthighs would get up and go to the restroom and her panty hosed clad thighs would rub together chhhchhhchhh noise.. .. my bro and the boys (12 -14) would rub their palms together to make the same kind of noise making everyone think her legs were THAT LOUD.. me and my younger bro knew what they were doing but never tattled. although once i grew up and got fat i felt bad (and WILL NEVER wear pantyhose!)rofl

  I dropped my cell phone in some water :S

  i'm afraid i killed my cell phone.

  i flushed it out with some distilled water hoping that the mud-puddle water would be cleared out and right now i have it in the refrigerator trying to dry it out.

  (frost-free refrigerators are great for dehydrating things).

  after 40 years of serving as a regular pioneer and being on the infirm list, the circuit overseer, the po and another elder told her today in a 30 min.

  conversation she was going to be announced as no longer pioneering.

  the co mostly talked about me, my wife and daughter.

  Geez... someone should write and publish an article about her somewhere.its a great human interest story.. let others know if you dedicate your life to the WTBS , once your old and infirm you get the boot. and add up what all those hours in service for 40 yrs would have been worth monetarily if she'd worked a job instead of " volunteering"

  i feel for your mother, and hope she isnt too hurt by this but i dont know how she could NOT be devastated.

  can a person really be brough up a jehovahs witness and live that life for 20,30,40 or more years and walk away unaffected?.

  are the effects similair to say a person who doesn't know they have been adopted and finds out only as an adult their "parents" are not their real ones?.

  what is that stanley theater used for?

  i might have the name of the theater wrong... a few years ago after saving for years.. my sis went on a tour of the nyc witness sites.. bethel and that theater etc... she said that seeing that theater made her wonder why they'd renovate such a fancy place when its so hard for her and her family to donate what they can and having to live in an old trailer to raise 3 kids etc..she said this not in a bitter way.. just wondering.. i didnt think much of it back then but now i do.

  do they rent it out?

  use it exclusively as an assembly hall?

  does it bother anyone that the luxury of that is so different than the average jw? most jw's i know live at or below the poverty line.

  i've never been there but if it bothered my selfless sis to the point that she was uncomfortable about her contributions.it must really be something.
