my friend from my jw's days ran up to me on the street the other day and to my suprise he is no longer with the jw's.
it has been about 16 years since i last saw him.
he was a "devout" jw's and we used to "pioneer" together.
i hold no ones beliefs against them . even jw's . if you can find somewhere you feel comfortable worshipping and it fits your lifestyle and your happy then great..who am i to judge?
some religions scare me.. like.. pentacostal.. they used to rock and roll and holler so much our kingdom hall down the road from their church would shake. (sounded like they were having more fun though lol) but if they are happy doin it.. fine with me.
i hope that this is not real.

when their actions spill outside of the congregation and get in the newspapers, there is no hushing it up.

mostly i find attractive an open mind.. been around enough closed minded people in my life..

i use to be afraid of the dark.i would feel the ___presence__of unseen things.
creepy stuff.. but, when i became agnostic and left all things religious behind me a very strange side effect took place in my life.
just this: nothing makes me afraid anymore!.
i'm scared of silly things like being afraid i'll never see my kids again.
just an hour and a half up the road.. no way of getting there and self righteous ex wont drive them down here.(well he will drive them down here to my daughters house but i never find out they were here till the next day)
i havent seen them since may.
any other fears just fade away to nothing compared to this.
i seem to recall when i was in dubland, i couldn't drive my car around in field service because i wasn't baptized.
was there any printed direction on this, or was it just a "said" dub policy?
our hall they just asked who was driving that day and several would raise their hands and that was it.. car groups were divided amongst them.
in the new system (tm) where will all the dead resurrected babies be?
i mean just think about how many aborted fetuses, sid babies, etc.
that have died over the last 6000 years.

for me it was the realization that there was no "faithful & discreet slave", that all the prophecies "proving" that jehovah's witnesses are the only religion approved by god is bogus and the realization that this is a "cult" and there is no real normal sense of love and affection in the "truth".
2 things.. one , the way i was treated during the worst time of my life and two, the generation change.. if my great grandma and grandparents died believing one thing , i was told to believe another thing.. then i would die and my children and grandchildren would be believing something entirely different over time. faith is important but God doesnt change that much!
