i read the left behind series and actually enjoyed them.. reminded me of when i was a kid jw and would daydream about how the 'end" would occur. i read it as entertainment not as religious FACT.
not that i call anyone buttholes (except my ex husband) but i like the general idea below..
MKR said : Someone should e-mail him the goods on the WBTS if he wants to talk about butt holes making BILLIONS on end of the world crap that never happens!!!!

Can you believe you followed this stuff and believed it?
by wizedup inmy husband and i amuse each other with recollections of the "spiritual" language, sometimes with tears of laughter.
we sometimes gasp at the thought we took all that stuff so seriously for nearly 40 and 33 years.
every meeting, we had to be there, listening to the demands for obedience, loyalty, and submission.

if you round up 15 min to the next hour on your service report its a sin..
if your service overseer asks you to add a few hours to keep the congregation avg up its following spiritual leadership.

Only in America....?
by core inmuch said here recently re the world at large and how it views the us - not too favorably overall - however - must make this point - president bush has just announced his intention to have as secretary of state condoleeza rice - now for me that is amazing and a credit to the american system - she is from a poor, black american background, was rejected years ago in the south by the democrats - yet by hard work she has risen to the very top - cant see that happening in similar circumstances here in the uk - clearly one difference between us is that hard work can get rewarded in the us.
a further note - seeing president bush introduce her when announcing his intention to put her nomination forward, i for one was struck by his apparent absolute admiration for this lady, for once he had no smirk as she spoke, rather he looked on her with evident pride and respect.
not a fan of gw but must give him marks here for his positive discrimination in favor of talent regardless of background, ethnicity or whatever.

i agree.. i hear derrogatory remarks about Condeleeza Rice but i always come back with " where would you be if you were a black woman? heck your a white man and look where your at"
shuts men up real fast lol

Best turkey recipe?
by bebu inhere's one i've used for years.
i only urge caution if your oven fluctuates or is unreliable in temperature, or if you think the power will go out for some reason during the course of baking.
take your bird, get it all ready to roast (stuff it just before you are prepared to bake it).

"Just being seen on the street is a witness."
by seattleniceguy inremember how the witnesses used to always say that even if they didn't meet anyone home, just being seen by traffic on the street was a witness?
as if the people driving by are saying to themselves, "wow, look at those servants of the true god, bringing the waters of life to my door.
if only i weren't so bull-headed, i might listen to them and attain a good relationship with my creator.

the one time i tried street witnessing was as a 14 yr old during an assembly, an old man knocked me upside the head with his cane..
taught me a lesson lol.. nevah again!
as for being seen on the street while door to door.. i usually worked rural areas where you got a house and then drove 30 min to the next house :P

How is the WTS like other religions?
by Triple A inthe wts is always telling us how they differ from mainstream christianity.
so my question is how are they the same?
more specifically in structure not doctrine, that is another topic.. examples:.

candidlynuts
to me.. the wtbs is like the catholic church in the dark ages.
if you get caught reading banned material your dead meat
if you get caught associating with heretics your dead meat
if you do anything outside of what your told to do , your dead meat.
they just use shunning instead of swords
