  Was There Any Watchtower Interpretation That You Never Quite Understood?

  i knew what the watchtower taught regarding the "faithful & discreet slave class" but how they could ever suggest that "domestics" were "individual members" of the anointed that were given food to the other anointed ones, yet they specifically were not members of the governing body, but the governing body represented the group that would take the lead in feeding others, was beyond me!

  the whole interpretation of the fds doctrine is ridiculous!.

  were there certain things that puzzled you as to how the watchtower could come up with a particular view?

  i started a thread on this many years ago but did not have the documentation ready.

  i recently unearthed the documentation and have put it into a pdf.. back about 15 years ago my best friend worked for a christian book store.

  he used to order foreign bibles for the store and one evening i was thumbing through a thai bible on the shelf and was dumbstruck.

  steve i wasnt trying to say that it was related to the watchtower

  the story just reminded me of something and i probably shouldn't have even posted about it or perhaps should have just started another thread.. i apologize if anyone thinks that i would say the watchtower endorses child abuse at the sick level this person was practicing.

  thanks mary.. i have wracked my brain trying to figure out where i read about tapping a babies foot as discipline.

  i can see it clearly in my head.. " for example, one sister states that from infancy she would gently tap her childs foot when it would misbehave, thereby training it to sit quiet in the meetings"

  but i'll be darned if i can remember where i read it at!

  i dont have a watchtower cd to search..what i recall is it would have been in the late 80s early 90s and it was a woman telling her story and she mentioned that as infants she'd smack/tap her kids on the bottoms of their feet to get them to behave. not BEAT them on their feet..of course the story above of the tortured children is way beyond anything any normal person would do to their kids and i was in no way saying that that behavior was watchtower approved.

  i'm 90% sure that i read it in an awake but i could very well be mistaken.

  As punishment for misbehaving, she would beat them on the soles of their feet

  that gave me a chill....i remember an awake or watchtower suggesting this as a discipline method years ago.

  quotes was the best. just the watchtowers own words right there for all the world to see their hypocrisy and deception.

  the watchtower knew it was an effective weapon , thats why they sued and bullied till it was taken down.
