problems with jw daughter-in-law
by QCA1 ini haven't been here in awhile and i'd like to say hi once again.. i have written what i am about to tell once posted it and it disappeared, must have hit the wrong button.so here i go again.
over a period of time my grandson who is 15 has been making regular contact to my youngest son (who is his uncle)they talk about what teens talk about, football and music, cal my grandson has also been allowed to stay over once in a while, which i might add surprised me a little, you know staying with his worldly gran, his mum is a jw and my eldest son cals dad is almost one you could say.. anyway since cal has been staying over at our house he has opened up about a lot of things none that were instigated by me i must add.he said he dosen't want to be a jw he hates it and his mum and dad have been hitting him quite hard.i believe him because his mum has always been heavy handed since he was a young baby,i did threaten her once after i heard she had knocked cal to the floor hitting him when he was about 3yrs because he said ' oh god ' has kids do sometimes,my young daughter was there at the time and she told me.
not long after that they left the village, after sometime normality resumed with our family and we got back on speaking terms.. cal has always been rebellious and i know his mum has always hit him and now he is 15 he is questioning more and fighting back so i quess he is in more trouble.then about a month ago my young son had a distressing phone call from cal he was sobbing and asking if he could come and stay he had some clothes packed so i spoke with cal and asked if he had been hit again and he said yes very hardbecause he forgot to say a prayer before the meal and his mum lashed out at him.

Questions on Adam & Eve?
by kls init has been a long time since i opened a bible but these questions keep coming up in my head so i thought i would ask our all knowing here.
according to the bible adam & eve ate the forbidden fruit and became embarrassed of their bodies so they covered up.
this makes no sense since they had been naked and where having sex so why were they embarrassed?

If God put 2 trees (knowledge tree and everlasting life tree) Why did he have to guard the
everlasting life tree when he kicked out Adam/Eve? He could have just destroyed it, and not wasted the cherubs time?

some in the Catholic Church add that the fruit is symbolic of the act of sex

What made you "see the light"?
by hubert ini realize many (or all) of the ex-j.w.
's in this forum have either gotten out of the org., faded, or in some way have come to the conclusion that the watchtower is not the "faithful and discreet slave", and is not the "true" religion that they claim to be.
i am curious to know..... "what made you see the light"?.

Many things about elders and their red tape in which imitates the political world!
But lately, It's been the inperfection theory (Adam was perfect, and as time goes on we are getting more imperfect)
Well, I tell my wife: If Adam/Eve sinned and Jehovah said to them they they will get sick and die now, why are
we getting:
1) birth defects (unloving of God), some are real serious such as conj. twins, spinodiffera, mongolism, etc
2) people being born with both sex organs (God does not want gay people, how we he accept these, when he created them this way!) real dilemma, huh?
3) Dinosours made to eat flesh
4) If god put two trees in Eden, when he expelled Adam/Eve why did he need to guard them (when he could have destroyed them)
5) People getting serious diseases even at 1 year of age (if point of imperfection true, God's curse would just get sick over time.... not right away)
6) as someone said: monkey's masturbating. Well they have sex in any way possible, even with relatives, and homosexual..... why would God create them this way!
7) (list could go on but I will finish here) inconsistencies with their persecution -vs- getting commendation from world complex (when good things written, JW's are highly reguarded, when bad things are written, the are persecuted for being God's people)

I just finished Crisis of Conscience...
by Badger inthanks to ray franz for writing it.
parts of the book have been talked about on the board before, but holy $#!+...seeing page upon page of evidence kept my jaw in a constant drop.... a few thoughts.... >franz seems to have little malice for the org, and it shows in the book.. >i looked at it with a very skeptical eye (as i do everything) and tried to see it from the perspective of a witness who sincerely believed.
i was still floored by the callousness of the comments of these people.. > control really does seem to be the watchword for these folks, and they've trained the rank and file well.

I have not read all the posts.... But I have a question? Was not Charles Manson leader of a religion?
Did the goverment interfere with his beliefs?
