Official - There are 6 million Bible Studies - but where are they?
by truthseeker inthis was mentioned at the service meeting.. but, it should be worrying to the society, not as wonderful as it may sound.
the number getting baptized each year is shrinking rapidly.. at one time, they boasted of baptizing 1000 dubs a day which equals to 365,000 dubs.
this was back in 1997.. at the dc this year, it was 5,000 a week.

who owns Kingdom Halls?

last i knew it was the watchtower who owned them all, but the pubs had to pay the rent and mortgage.
are any or all of the halls in the names of local elders?

On the day after the flood some brothers passed by, and gave me the "oooh oooh aaaah aaah". I did not hear from them
until 1 month later when they asked me "when are you coming back to the meetings, you're a MS and the people are talking".
No announcement was made, no help. Better yet, my mother lost all her belongings, and when she went to my sisters' house with just her bare essentials, you figure someone would donate some clothes? NAH NAH NAH
Hypocrites.... The national guard helped me, the red cross helped me, the local christian church was giving free lunches, but where were the J.W's?
Hey, this was floyd! Close to a 1,000 families were affected in the New York/NJ area

Truthseeker, you are so correct in the Italian District & circuit conventions we have just had 5 baptized in the past 2 years out of 800 present.
Seems like the only new ones we see is either bethellites, or others that think learning Italian is kool.
We have this brother from malawi always making experiences (I will post these later) of his escape from death through prayer all the time
we currently have about 15 african/americans in the Italian

As a Congragations Accountant I have to have 2 signatures from those elders to write a check.
Also, no accounting paperwork gets handed to goverment

If you have the money I would tell you what I did:
I bought a hardtail Litespeed Titanium with no disk brakes.
The full suspension I bought & like is a cannondale. They are stable & ride like a cloud
On the litespeed I've had quite a few spills & nothing has happened to it except the derailler
On the Cannondale since it is aluminum there are dings and pings

Idea for when "Beware the Voice of Strangers" is studied
by joenobody inafter reading the "beware the voice of strangers" article, a thought occurred to me.
it has been suggested in the past that a number of board members ought to attend a particular meeting all on the same day.
why not on the sunday when this article is studied?
