The Watchtower vs The Clock - where are they headed?
by truthseeker inafter reading janh's 1914 generation post (under the best of section), i was impressed by the amount of research he had put in.
one thing that sticks out while reading it, however, is the sneaky way the watchtower kept extending the length of a generation every few years.. all those oldies who've been around for decades, patiently waiting on jehovah and the society for that long promised paradise are already passing away.
metaphorically speaking, their "spiritual tongue" is longing for that drip of cold crystal clear water from the rivers of paradise.

It's so funny - when I was reading the WT article in your post I didn't see the date. I thought they were talking about the 1995 change! They can really just re-use the same article every 20 years when they update the armageddon prophecy!! LMAO

Don't get me started. I HATE when my mom says "I miss you" and ESPECIALLY "I love you." If THAT's true what would it be like if she didn't love me?? I guess then she'd rip my skin off and pour alcohol on me.
There's a Mellissa Ferrick song I love called "Little Love." She says "So don't call me and don't write and don't you dare tell me that you miss me tonight --'cause I need someone who'll be home when I get there."
So don't you dare tell me you miss me and love me then proceed to treat me the way you treat me.

Wild Animals in Paradise
by JH ini remember when they said that wild animals wouldn't be wild anymore in paradise.
we could be right next to these wild animals, and no harm would come to us.. i remember seeing magazines with pictures of young children and lions next to each other.
is it realistic to believe that all animals would be nice to each other and peaceful, like shown in the magazines?

I've always had a problem with that whole petting zoo idea of the NS(tm). Does that also mean that snakes and spiders and scorpians will also not harm people? They will magically have a new set of instincts that tell them not of bite/sting humans. Anyone see I, Robot?? Or is it that our new perfect human bodies will be impervious to poison? Were the animals all vegetarians in the garden -- before Eve ate the apple? I don't remember god cursing ALL of the animal kingdom: "And all the wild beasts will stop being vegans and will now hunt and kill other animals for food." And the lion thinks "YES! Now I can finally eat that deer for dinner!" I guess they're dreading the NS. LOL
What a load!! Any thinking person(tm) can grasp that!

if you asked them politly to take the trash out (you bring it to the door for them so you don't have to invite them in), would they?
they are there to give a good witness, right?

gdt - I also gave some thought to your post. It seems to have gotten under my skin. Sometimes people ask questions when they really have a statement to make - and I wonder if you did that with your post. (Yes - that was an example of what I am talking about.) I see from your post number you are still relatively new here -- but I imagine by now you know exactly what type of forum this is, who's here and the general nature of discussion that goes on. So my question is, if you find it offensive, why stay? My next question or observation is - I wonder if your discomfort stems from being aligned with an organization that has caused so much intense pain and grief? Why else would you tell us to "talk nice or shut up." (Just my interpretation of "If you can't say anything nice...)

Gadget - that was great. What a good reminder of what its like talking to a braindead dub. They didn't even really address your concern about the UN situation. They basically changed the discussion to apostates. Why the need to be defensive? Why not say something like - "well I can see how that would be upsetting...." if they were really there to address YOUR concerns. Instead they'd rather bring up something they CAN talk about - Evil Apostates.
I did like the way they aparently had to suck air when you first brought up the UN scandal...huh, wha..no,no,no - its a lie!
Sometimes its so obvious that they don't get to go to college. LOL

Was Apostle Paul 1st Centaury Jehovah?s Witness?
by sleepy inlets play a game and assume the bible is true, and jesus came to earth and all that, and what he taught was the truth.
he left responsibility with his 12 apostles to look after his ?sheep?.
a few years later on some guy reckons he has had a vision and has been chosen by god he now as good as takes over the christian congregation and makes many of its rules and writes numerous books with his rules and ideas these are eventually included in the bible, were as the 12 disciples are virtually silent.

I agree that Paul did not teach or preach Christ's teachings. Paul was extremely judgemental, mean, threatening and controlling. Sometimes when you are persecuted - its not because you are a good Christian....its because you are a stupid ass. lol
I wonder if the lesson of Paul's writings could have been to make the point about how easy it is to stray from what Christ really taught. I mean it's glaringly obvious that what he taught was not consistent with Christ's teachings. So why do so many -- ESPECIALLY the JW's -- follow his teachings instead of Jesus'. If the JW's and everyone else would do ONLY what Jesus said (love God and love others) the world would be a nicer place.
Just my uneducated opinion.
