My family came in directly from the door to door work. And to think we lived way out a dirt road : (

Some Help with a Study Needed
by Grog infirst a little intro story.
my sister a witness who was baptized about a year ago was talking to my mother about some mormons that came to her door.
she spoke of how they belive etc... and feels sorry for them etc, however she made a point in the begining about how the morman lady wanted to open with a prayer and how my sister didn't want to do that and that interfaith prayers are bad.

I've been a pretty avid MMA fan for about 2 years now. It started when I was stealing TV awhile back and got them free but I've been paying for them for awhile now and I can't get enough. I'm looking forward to the show this weekend too... should be a great show. Tell your hubbie to watch pride fighting also they do a big show around the end of the year and I'm sure you would both enjoy that one. I kinda like pride a bit better than UFC since there heavyweight divison is so awesome.. while the UFC's has arloviski and some cans. Was wondering if there were any mma fans here.

What is the most unique name you've encountered?
by Why Georgia inthis question comes to mind right now because i seem to be surrounded by pregnant women.
3 of the mom's in my sons' kindergarten class of 12 - are pregnant and in the other classes i notice a similar trend.
it's not a large school - maybe 60 kids max between the preschool and kindergarten.

Are Most Folks Here Agnostics and Atheists?

Hmm.. I'd have to say that I'm becoming more and more agnostic as I start explore my spirituality more. It just seems to me that its hard to be a part of any "big" religion without being exclusivist to some degree or another. I'd have to say that the spirituality that I am closest with would be the belif that god exists everywhere in all of us.. not sure what you call that though.

Putting an offer on a home........(law ?)
by love11 into make a long story short- last saturday, we put an offer down on a house.
then sunday and mon.
we did some research on mortgages and decided that we could get a better rate of interest if we waited till next spring to buy a home.

Well I'm a real estate agent in california and I would say that you have nothing to be worried about. It sounds like for 1 your offer will not even be accepted and if its not accepted then you have nothing to worry about. In california usually the seller has 3 days to either accept the offer or counter offer to you. If they counter offer you in any way you can just decide that you don't like it and be fine. The other thing is.. even if you do decide to just walk away from it and decide not to buy it all that is at risk is your deposit that your agent would drop off at a title company. It sounds to me that any offer that the seller "laughs" at will of course not be accepted... there are also other ways to get out of a contract like say during your inspection period you find out something with the house that you are not happy with.. say it needs a new roof and the seller isn't going to pay for it you can use that as an excuse to get out of the contract.. thats what the first 17 days of escrow are for. Also.. in california the contracts have a built in loan contigency that if your loan isn't approved then you don't have to buy the property. To sum it all up without an accepted offer you have nothing to worry about at all. BTW... not really something you would threaten divorce over, maybe you should deal with those issues Casey

I grew up in redwood valley from when I was 2 until around 9 when I moved to ukiah where I'm presently living. You mentioned recettis which is interesting. My uncle married a lady whose maiden name was recetti. I have 3 cousins that are still recettis. I'm 24 now so I'm probably a bit young for when you were here.

Is Walmart right or wrong?
by JH inhere in quebec, walmart decided to close a walmart store because the 190 employees wanted to become unionized.
walmart said that they weren't making money at that store, and that's why they are closing.
we all know that the real reason why walmart wants to close is because the employees want to be unionized.. in this day and age, do you think that walmart is right, or the employees?.

I have to agree with Will on this one
http://investor.walmartstores.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=112761&p=irol-irhome
from there you can see that it isn't a matter of walmart making money they just do fine.
The problem is that if it unionizes and it works out then its more money for all the employees at the million other walmarts and less money for the execs.
